WE09 or PES09?

What is the difference between Winning Eleven and Pro Evolution Soccer series. It seems that i do not have players like chikhaoui, shimizu and a few others and mine is Winning Eleven 2009. Any1 facing same problems of missing good players?

Asia region 3 will named as Winning Eleven, North America 1 a Europe 2 will named as Pro Evolution Soccer.

I'm stay at asia, then we have the opportunity or option to buy any region of ps3 game. Just to make clear, japanese version game won't have any single of english words inside the game menu or language.

I live in Japan, and I have the Japanese Winning Eleven 2009 (region 2 disk- but its blueray and it works fine in my north american PS3. Japan and North America have the same blue-ray region). In the settings, you can switch it the language to English or Japanese, and choose between which language of commentary you like. Since my PS3 language is English, the game defaulted to English when I loaded it up.

It seems to be the exact same game as PES2009. However, the PES Option Files do not work! If anyone knows of any WE2009 option files, or a way to alter the PES ones to make them work, please PM me!!

Are you talking about PS2 or next gen?

PS - The actual problem you are having, with not having Shimizu, etc., is more that likely unrelated to which version of the game you have. I have heard others complain about this on PES 09 next gen versions - they seem to show up randomly, or maybe not at all depending on your luck (some say after many seasons they still aren't there and others see them right away).
