Need some help with finishing....

I'm having issues and need some advice.

I play online mostly and without being egotistical, I ain't too bad on Pro Evo. I'm a good defender, rarely conceding more than 1 goal, 2 on a bad day. I'm quite good with passing around the midfield area and have mastered the art of defence splitting passes. I am also an ok dribbler, capable of swinging in loads of crosses from the wing per game. With my custom formation, I can defend in numbers, attack down the middle passing to create space or down the wings to cross the ball in.

However, in the final third I struggle. I cannot seem to finish moves off. I struggle to score. I don't know why but I always seem to mess it up. I hate the cut back or the slow dribble through everyone so avoid them like the plague. I'd rather score good goals (and by good I mean genuine so don't mind if they're goalmouth scrambles as long as they're realistic/genuine).

I've practiced and practiced and play computer on top player but seem to struggle to finish teams off online. I often pay the price by losing 1-0 or 2-1 even though I create many more chance and usually have lots more clear cut attempts on goal.

I usually play with Man United, Blackburn, Atletico Madrid, Zenit or Galatasaray online. If international I play with Spain, Italy or Wales.

It's not the formation I'm using as I can easily get a minimum of 3, more often than not 4 or 5 players in the box but just can't seem to score.

HELP!!!!!

when your in the box, playing on ground, do a kick feint, move side ways, shoot and when the power gauge is on press R2. almost always works

Yeah kick feints follwed by an extremely powerful belter, are often useful, and they also look good....

I personally have never used the R2 button for the 'finishing', I seem to have no problem scoring...

I suppose it all comes down to who you are playing against man, Just try and read the game more, like if your at a slight angle, shoot across goal so one of your other players can tap it in lol

I hope this ent been too obvious for ya, but its a bit of a difficult question to deal with :)

ever thought of going around the keeper? its pretty simple and quite realistic. also the R2 shoot but is really good, u can do the Henry finish and when u pull it off its amazing.

The R2 works really well in pes 09. You can even shoot from outside the box with the R2 and you can score amazing goals too.

It all comes with experience, it depends what player im with and the postion im in. If m with a good striker (finisher) il usualy tap shoot with r2 or rt
