i would be very interested to hear your definition of "scripted" in terms of pro evo...in terms of predictablitiy pes is renound for its limitless options in terms of scoring, creating chances, situations etc. I personally do not see your logic. I think you are the only person i have come across who has repeatedly called pes "scripted". Just seems like a shallow argument if there are no other users referring to it as "scripted." In your view was every other pes "scripted" also? just curious to hear your thoughts. Regards,
Scripted is when something is decided before hands, when someone consciously decides how things will play in a movie, or a book, or a video game.
And every PES game I've played is "scripted" to a certain extent. Most notably PES09.
The amount of "lucky" goals that I and the Com have scored is ridiculous. The amount of goals from free-kicks, corner kicks, penalties, and GK spills is unacceptable.
At times a perfectly timed and aimed shoot will not go in, because the Com randomly decided it shouldn't go in. In other occasions I just cannot do anything against my opponents, even when I know exactly what they'll do.
And then there's the usual huge gaps that the Center Backs leave behind for no apparent reason other than giving away an easy goal. Plus the fail-safe passes that always leave me one-on-one against the GK, for the easy tap-in.
PES09 for me feels like the Com is taking you for a ride, even when you know how to play against it and win every time, it's just average, at best. Which is the main issue I have with PES09.
Because even though PES6 (PS2 version) was scripted to a certain extent, it was still addictive and fun. Even when I won three consecutive games by large margins, I still wanted to play one more game.
PES09 isn't harder than PES6, we just have less control over significant things, we are somehow restrained by the Com.. this makes PES09 an easier and more straightforward game than versions like PES6 or PES5.
I think PES09 is poorly scripted.. in my opinion PES6 (PS2 version) was scripted with much more caution and detail. Because it wasn't as obvious and consistent, because you really felt a greater sense of "anything can happen" -as- opposed to the FIFA-Like feeling I get whenever I score a goal in PES09.
It feels as though in PES09 the actual skill of a player isn't as important as before. Every PES version I've played is scripted to some extent, but the execution has changed for the worst.
