BAL Retirment

Just started my 5th Season, age 21 on top player. Currently playing for Chelsea as WF.

Chelsea are playing well, (we've just won the league and the Masters Cup) but I've noticed that the likes of Lampard, Drogba, Ballack, Deco, Cech etc are all 34+ and retirement surely looms.

I know there's a few of you out there who are alot further down the line than I currently am with my legend. At what point do these players and others like them in respective teams dissapear from the game? Are they re-born a-la Master League and automatically find there way back to their teams? Or (as I'm hoping) are they replaced with fresh, younger talent forming a completely new team?

This could be a nice tweak to the BAL mode. Say for example your Legend was coming through the ranks at the same time as the likes of Torres, Kaka, Ronaldinho etc - you'd end up playing with these guys at the peak of their powers rather than the twilight of their careers.
This would also mean that they'd be a whole load of "classic" players that would still be around as the established players, lets say Zizou, Cantona, Zola etc.

i started my 11th season last night and beckham and the likes have retired from the national side. i play at barca and messi etoo henry etc... are still going at the tender ages of about 38... in my first few seasons at cagliari a couple of players were still playing at 39!!!!

i'm not sure about re-generation yet, haven't bumped into any yet. i'm like you mate, i dont like it when the players are re-born.

still playing at 38/39 eh?! Stats must be seriously on the slide by then. Surely it affects their ability in game, or is Messi still the equivalent of a footballing super-hero?(intermittent crap AI aside of course...)

naah messi is still tearing shit up!!! bojan is pretty special as well now but i'm keeping him out the team... although, this season we are 8 games in and every one is playing everywhere.... 6 goals in 8 for me. when henry and messi are on red or orange arrows your garunteed 3 or 4 chances even if your playing shite as a player...

can anyone answer how regeneration is handled in BAL mode?

is anyone like 15 or 16 seasons ahead, that can inform us?

No they are not re-born because they play till they are 38 going on 39...but the funny thing is when you reach 33 going on 35 your stats decrease as well as your abilities..yet the "stars" are playing at the age of 39, like they were 19 which is ridiculous..for goalies ok.... but how many players you know keep going till their 39th ....AND... still play like they were 19

i never knew the stats come down at 35... this sucks, i wanted to increase them as much as i could. i think there should be instead a age stat, that the higher it goes- the more it effects your game (less stamina, less speed...).

I've played against reborn players Giggs is at Bologna and Scholes is at Chievo in my BAL as one example. Just like ML 2 or 3 seasons after they retire they are reborn, but most players dont retire until they are at least 38 some will retire earlier

Once players reitre they are re-born.
Computer player do decrease in abilty as they get older, most notably their speed will decrease.

i always by them back as newcomers they come back a 17 year olds at the half way negotiations the year after they retire btw if u do a master league get the likes of nedved rivaldo cannavaro scholes etc n play them all straight away by the time there 21_23 there stats are amazing

Yeah I've seen a 16 year old Pires with a 34 year old Pires face ha! Same as Maldini...he's 17 and looks like a 40 year old

I think Mentality and condition have a similar effect. Players with high stats in both seem to have less dramatic curve drops once past their peak.
