The last PES guide I owned was PES6 and it was indeed very helpful.

Obviously it tells you formations that will help, but also what formations have an impact against other certain formations. Intricate tactics, how to utilise them and which types of players are best allocated with these tactics in terms of their stats etc.

Tips on how to succeed and get the most out of the original Master League team, and potential signings to look out for among plenty of other information.

There's a ton of information in the guides, some tips are obvious and you would know anyway but a lot of the stuff I read in the PES6 guide was very helpful and I honestly didn't realise had an impact on the game.

Plus it will probably last you a few years since the game doesn't change that dramatically.

Oh man, what doesn't it tell you... uhmm... gives you exact stat hits in % on the different conditioning arrows, which you would have no way of figuring out on your own.

Tells you what each stat does in detail.
Tells you what each position does in detail...

Gives you lots of tips on formation setup, changing strategies, expected behavior when altering defensive arrows, etc.. etc..

Lots of info on crossing, different levels of crossing, manual crossing, tips on how to use them properly.. and when to use them.. dribbiling, I mean everything...

Yeah some stuff I already figured out on my own, but ther'es just some thing sthat you 'll never figure out unless you just know how the game works from the inside.

Normally i won't care any game manual or game guide, but i'm definitely wrong.....Couples month ago i'm felt boring, then i'm taken out the manual book and see what inside..... i found some skill very useful that i never notice before.....e.g. after you make a pass to your closer teammate, you may directly press the R2 button, then the passer will move forward...just similar as one two passing ( L1+X and triangle) and for me this features is more useful than the one, two passing...

Therefore, i believe konami will hidden a lot of great skills and tactical from the game manual book and put into the game guide, then they can make more money from there.

Coulda got the guide half price when i bought the game but decided to turn it down through lack of cold hard cash. Now you guys are starting to make me want the damn thing :)

We play at a league with 40 teams and it gets a bit competitive. The guide has proven to be very helpful. Last season I found out about it but it didn’t impress me much. This season my team got to be extremely limited so I started to look for it. You can’t get a hold of it in Mexico so I downloaded it. Once I got to read it I couldn’t stop. I can honestly say that some of the tips that come there have improved my game. I might even make it to the playoffs :D



I know most people won’t be interested in this table but I’m a bit exited that I’m second place in my group and with some luck I might make it to the playoffs (2 best teams of each group pass to the playoffs).

A league with 40 teams and you getting second I think you have every right to be proud mate. well done.
I also agree the guide can be quite insightful.

Hmm - the guide sounds interesting, although as someone who probably uses the editing mode more than anything else, and as someone who can't play online (therefore limiting who I play; and I don't want to make it too easy vs the COM), it's probably not of massive use for me.

And Trevi, I wish I had 39 mates who all played PES at a similar level to me, that looks fascinating.

Aren't we talking about the Piggyback interactive guide? I believe it's official, but I don't think it's actually made by Konami.

I bought it in 08 and it was extremely useful. I still pick it up every now and then for reference. It may not make you a better player, but that's because there are few real secrets to getting better. Mostly, you just need to play more.

Anyway, I would recommend buying it for info, but I wouldn't go into it thinking that it will automatically make you a better player. For example, it teaches you some hidden moves, or reminds you of moves you don't use often, but actually using them to effect and getting good at using them is all up to you, of course.

R2 is better way of heading? i have never hear it before.

where can i buy this guide?

No he means, using R2 to get infront of your opponent, to get in a better position to head the ball.

o yah .. R2 is the most important thing in the air battle , for agressive heading i always use r2+ shot or pass or lob

oic, thanks. i try it today. i am vidic and i press R2 and square to head and i slide tackle torres. RED CARD =.= am i do something wrong?

Yeah I would imagine you are soing something wrong :happy:

Use R2 to get into position, i.e infront of the opponent, and then press Square...Not at the same time :)

Square should not initiate a slide tackle ... I feel like that happened to me once, but I probably just accidently switched off of the player and the AI took over.
