Started out with my french little protegé, whose name I completely stole from the James Bond franchise - René Mathis (MATHIS in-game). I chose CF as my position, seeing as I prefer to be a Target Man.
I started the game at Amateur, seeing as I have only recently got the game and haven't learned all the nifty tricks yet (though I have learned enough basics to actually being able to PLAY the game). Also, I only had a keyboard to play with at this point.
In the first match, with Babilayna, I started out on top. After a goalless first half, we came back on to score 3 goals where 2 of them were from myself. Post-match came a few offers and I took the one I felt was most rewarding - Paris St-Germain.
The season started out relatively good. It took me about 6-7 games until I was actually playing a first team game but I wasn't complaining. Neither was the manager as I scored a goal in my first match and assisted to another. And as the season went on, I was being rotated at the top (PSG plays a 4-4-1-1) with Mateja Kezman but never really getting a firm position as a starter.
W lost in the cup to Le Mans with a total of 1-9. Mind you, I played in neither of the games. But the league was not a total failure. With about 5 games to go, we had secured the league with about 12 points ahead of Lyon.
Negotiations came and no major offer from a big team so I decided to stick with PSG. This time around, we were gonna play in the Champions League.
About halfway into the season, I got kinda annoyed by the trend of us not scoring goals (The 4-4-1-1 was failing, badly) so I feigned injury and skipped every match up until the january window, hoping that a better team would come with an offer. But no, no one came.
Well, Robinho did. To us.
Newfound hope. With such a star, I decided that I could stick around with PSG for a while longer. Back in the first team right away (Kezman was tired), I helped salvage what little hope we had of remaining in the running for the league title.
Champions League went straight to hell (I never played many matches in the group stage due to "injury") so we set our sights on the UEFA Cup. A number of high profile teams were in it, among them Valencia and Manchester United. We beat the former in the first knockout round with a total of 6-1 (I scored 4 of those 6 and quickly established myself as a top scorer in the Cup). A few matches later and we were in the final, agains't just Manchester United.
Two early goals by me and Stéphane Sessegnon meant we had a lead going into the second half. Dimitar Berbatov scored one for Man U and they started pushing hard for an equalizer. Eventually, I was subbed out and - knowing my teams defensive weakness and lack of attacking prowess on top - I started chewing fingernails. But we held them at 2-1 and we're crowned winners. I recieved the Top Scorer award.
The League had by now become a very hard rout between (again) ourselves and Lyon. We managed to clinch the title by winning the penultimate match and staying three points ahead of Lyon with about 11 goals to our advantage. The celebrations were done in the last match though, due to the league not being actually decided. Here too, I finished in top of the goalscoring list.
I was now called up to the France squad for the World Cup. In the first match agains't Russia, we were pinned back by a penalty goal from Pavel Pogrebnyak. I got subbed in at the 63' and scored a goal in my first run. This was followed up by a header from Henry and the win was a fact.
The second match was agains't South Africa. The only goal in the match was scored by myself, a header on a corner in the later minutes of the match. Yet, these goals did not warrant me a start in the last match agains't Saudi Arabia. The manager started with Saha and Govou. This turned out to be disastrous, since the match ended 1-1. But we were through and were facing Ghana in the knockout round.
Again, no start. The manager must've figured we'd breeze through because he chose Djibril Cissé and Louis Saha to start (weird, Djibril hadn't played a single game in the world cup and Saha had been playing poorly). So we got pinned back. 2-0. I wasn't even subbed in (He chose Anelka instead, kept Cissé on the field) and we were out.
Now I'm starting the third season, still at PSG since no major team came forward and wanted me. A major name added to the squad was Ricardo Kaka', the star from AC Milan. Robinho had now left the club (was it a loan?).
Season 1
14 goals in the league, no goals in the cup, no internationall callup.
Season 2
18 goals in the league (Top Goalscorer), 2 goals in the Ligue 1 Cup, 9 goals in the UEFA Cup (Top Goalscorer), 2 goals in the World Cup w/ France
Trivia: Benzema was the second best scorer in the league, yet was not even called up for the france squad. The managers ARE really dumb.
