Best passing team

I simply want to know what is the best passing (ball possesion type) team in the whole game.

I latly changed my tactics to 4-5-1/3-5-2 so I could gain possesion and control the game through my midfielders.

I tried playing with several teams:

Chelsea- the team i usualy play with, I have trouble passing through the center of the field and the players tend to loose the ball quite easly and conside goals as a result of that. My biggest problem is on the sides, where I only have Joe Cole and Quaresma/ Malouda who are awefuly bad at passing. Thats the main reason why I like playing with two players as AMF and two DMF/CMF (in 4-4-2), but that gets me no where at attacks.

Barcelona- ironicly, they seem to be quite useless in ball possesion (maybe its just me). My only good passers are Xavi, Iniesta and Hleb. With them I can just pass it around a 5 meter box and then pass to the attackers and hope for good. They are cramped into little space so I need to pass the ball quickly, which usualy results in a deadly counter attack.

I also played with Inter and they actually seem pretty good but I haven't played with them much.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Couldn't it be down to the formations you want to play with? I play with West Ham sometimes and just set them up so that we play a quick, short passing game.

My prolem is that some teams can't play certain types of formations. Also, I need players with good passing stats, that fit perfectly to my formation.

It all depends on formation and the way you play. I can give anyone a passing master-class with Liverpool, because I play with them most of the time, so I know how to play with them very well. Use the width well is the success, and have CBs who can bring the ball out of the back, or just let Alonso and Gerrard ping them all over the place. Agreed that Spain on paper should be the best.

I pass the ball really well with Barca. You have to get used to them. Juve are also good in passing but not too good. Ac Milan are probably one of the best in passing.

A.C. Milan can play on many different formations providing that you favor playing through the middle. At least that is what I think :D

It feels like Barcelona would be one of the absolute best passing teams, due to Xavi and Andres Iniesta (based on real life, not in-game stats. infact I dont even know their in-game stats)

I usually use Man Utd because of there abillity to get ball possesion, they play 4-4-2. I think the problem with FC Barcelona is their 4-3-3 formation. The midfield is not wide enough to play the ball safely. And the three attackers invite you to play the ball up quickly.

I always used Milan as my passing team but I always sacrificed width in midfield as the narrower the midfield the more you can knock the ball around the centre and move the ball, especially if you get the two players either side of Pirlo (I use Falmini and Seedorf/Ambrosini) who are central but not really really narrow and fullbacks who attack. It helps so much more. Its a shame Milan have decline because for the past 4 or 5 years they have always been my team on PES. There passing is really good and they have a fluid midfield, only if there defenders were better passers in the game would they be complete. Barcelona are really good but you need to know how to play them. They can be a difficult team to control at first unless you are a constant 1-2 player.

Thank you for reading.

Well you can always get the widemen to drop back so that it's effectively a 4-5-1. Keeping them as WFs but putting the attack arrows backwards tends to help.

For me, i think the best teams does not always give you the enjoyment of playing a passing game. More often they gives frustration more than anything. I always play with the default formation, so don't flame me for things like you can change the formation blah blah blah....

Using the default formation, I find Juventus and Sunderland, two of the best teams to keep the ball, although their players' stats might not be very high on the passing side, especially sunderland, but i'm able to play possession football with these two teams quite well i should say. I've tried Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Barcelona, Ac Milan, and most of these just doesn't suits me, probably is down to my playing style. And probably due to their player ability as well, which makes players more tempted to let's say pass to messi or ronaldo, and let him bring the ball forward.

For national team, Turkey is my favourite and Spain comes next.

Hope this helps for you.

if this were real life, i'd look at arsenal. it's a shame passing in '09 isn't like it was in pes 5 and 6.
