Lost yesterday to my mate from an injury time bicycle kick from outside the box from Adeboyer. I'll never hear the end of it. :faceplm:

Just wondering does anyone actually play ultimate team, was thinking of getting it but not really sure if its worth it?

I played the trial, didn't realise I had to pay for it until the end of the trial :faceplm:

I enjoyed it up until the point I had to pay to carry on playing. I think it could get quite interesting though.

I won't be buying it.

I'm bored.

Can someone explain how Ultimate Team offline works. Are the games you play in a league format and do you play against real teams?

Also, is every game played in the baking sun or is there rain in this mode?Yes, I'm thinking of buying it, but only for offline games really. And yes, I'm too lazy to play the trial and get the answers to most of the above. >_>

You can play a friendly-like match against the computer, any team of your choice. The higher the rating of the team in comparison to your team the more skill points you will recieve, home or away also affects this. The more skill points you get the more tournaments you can enter. These are knockout format. I haven't personally played any matches in rain but there has been a mixture of night and day so far. I only really play offline matches myself now, and will continue to until I get a much better team..

I wish I'd read this before starting Ultimate Team. Thought it could be extremely enjoyable to go from League 2 standard players towards the 'gold' players.

I thought I could avoid paying by just resisting the old Merlin swap shop trading method. Little did I know it expires after 5 games. And I really wanted to see what players were in the silver packs. :/

If this was cheap I'd go for it, but £7.99 is an absolute farce.

Yeah it is, EA taking the piss there. A lot of the people who have paid for it do rate it very highly and think it's very fun to play and addictive. Must be a bastard to have to pay for the player packs too though :\

It shows EA are working very hard to make sure the FIFA players don't get bored and that they are putting the effort in to make this FIFA as good as it can be - £7.99 though is far too much.

Anyone up for a game on the PS3?

You don't actually pay for the player packs, you use coins earned by playing matches. e.g. 500 coins is the price of a bronze pack, and I got that amount just by winning 1 match against a similarly pants Swedish team.

I hope this is re-designed slightly (as it's not very user friendly) and imported straight into FIFA 2010 as it has bags of potential.

I'm pretty damn good with Juve on this game. I keep sending the glory hunting Inter Milan fans back to their holes, with the help of Amauri and as the Great Totti once called him; Alessand.

Help Please!!!

OK! Now I've ventured into the Manager Mode for the first time ever (until this year, I've always ONLY played PES). To my delight I found out that your players get experience points, by which you can upgrade any skill you'd like. SUPER! So obviously I've started by upgrading speed and acceleration on all my players. But now I want to focus on other skills/attributes, but I can only guess at what the different skills/attributes do - since there are no explanation anywhere to be found. I spend most of my workingday yesterday searching the net thin for information on the subject - but really didn't find anything really useful.
Does any of you guys know of anything?

Thanks!

Juventus are exceptional in FIFA. Adidas Live Season enabled, Iaquinta on in place of Amauri. Works a treat. Man Utd/Liverpool/Barca loyalists hate getting mauled by Juventus on Live.

Haha, that's one of my fondest memories of this game... dribbling past virtually the whole United team before bending it into the top corner with Alessandro! The reason they're very good is because the team is naturally balanced, introducing Iaquinta provides a bit of a pace and strength and then you're sorted.

I find use Villa online works a treat. People constantly underestimate you but thenthe pace of the front three always causes trouble with barry and petrov solid in the middle. Shame about the defence though, but it becomes a cse of scoring more than them.

They really are. I usually keep the same formation and tactics as default and Tiago in for Sissoko (sentimental reasons I guess, but he does a job anyway). Usually wait till 65-70 minutes to bring on Giovinco for Nedved. If I'm looking for a goal I'll turn to Trezeguet. I haven't used Iaquinta much, tbh. Although, I was playing a guy the other day, he was Juve and I was Roma and he absolutely destroyed me with Iaquinta.

I haven't had a game where I was Juventus and Del Piero has not scored for me. But when I was Italy yesterday he was pretty anonymous. FIFA is pretty life like, no? :shfty:

Sissoko is good due to his physicality, I tended to shift Nedved into centre midfield to make room for Giovinco on occassion. Iaquinta is definitely your best choice for a partner for Del Piero.

True that, you can outrun anyone with Agbonlahor in particular. If you play play with a lot of through balls like myself and the defense is around the middle of the pitch....all you have to do is decide on how to finish it.

Almost like cheating!

I'll have to give him a try. Playing against him I realised that he is strong and very fast. I'm sure he's good in the air as well, but my opponent played more of a ground game, so I didn't have to deal with that sort of attack.

Watch yourself boy... true though.

I think it was mainly the 4-3-3 formation though. Think for Italy I'll use 4-4-2. Two defensive midfielders, wide midfielders rather than wingers and two up front.

The only thing is I'm not sure who to play on the left. I could try Di Natale, but I'm sure his stats will take a big hit by playing him in a left midfield position, rather than his normal left wind position.
