Haha, people are gonna have a hard time understanding that 360 dribbling on fifa does not visually look like a major difference, the difference will be when you play with it. You wil be seeing lots more statements like this in the coming weeks, because asthetically, fifa 10 doesnt look much different at all to fifa 09, but little things like the improved crowd, improved manager mode, improvements to animations, ball and player physics will become more obvious when the game is played.

Remember I said this when the talk of PES being a shiny new game and fifa 10 just being the same as 09, comes around next week.

To be fair to EA and Dave Rutter they have not suggested anything else, from what I have seen they have always said that this year is all about refinement, which IMO opinion is a good move, start from a solid base and build up, not recreate each year as Konami seem to be doing and not really moving forward.

You guys are so right about WENB and FSB for that matter, too slimey man, I think their site has the best layout but it stops there, what it presents is to biased to be counted seriously, and the fact they advertised and posted the JVN 00:00 video on their front page and then two post later start slagging them off for breaking the NDA shows what type of cowards they actually are. its a shame they have no jounalistic backbone because I think they would do a good job, but alas they are just fanatics of the game prepared to sleep with the devil for an early taste.

As you will hear on MOTD many times in this coming season, "you learn more in defeat than in winning" they need to consider this in regards to constructive feedback, both positive and negative.

Another thing, where is that Jon Murphy, polishing his sun glasses? he needs to stand up and be counted, he should be calming the storm right now not hiding in his loft.

So true, if Jon Murphy would just say in is blog whats going on. He doesnt have to address the last video. He needs to tell us information about the code at gamescom. He should say it will feature full mo-cap meaning new animations to calm the storm. This is the main weakness of pro, once the animations are solid, all Konami need to do is work on the weak AI and they will have a solid base to continue from.

The big news for fifa comes out on the 19th where it becomes a hand on affair so most of us will know alot more, for me im 80% sure i will get it just to play online...

Tech said somewhere that 360 is not visually noticeable but EA are going on about that the most.....

im hoping to read about the online and if BAP has been lengthened out....plus other features that may have been added.....

but reading that review on pes I'm slightly worried...

...

You can see the 360 movement, its just not amazing to look at that's all, and the passing is still 8 directions i think as well, so as a package it doesnt make you think its amazing when you look at it.

It think when you phsyically play this game, thats when you will notice the differences.

Asthetically, it doesnt look much different.

More from PESFan:

Content Packed Next Week

We’ve got a jam packed schedule next week guys, jam packed. Starting on Monday at 10am, we’ll be posting both our in-depth PES2010 preview and the Q&A session we’ve been working on (filled with answers to a tonne of questions you’ve been asking).

There’ll also be our Master League play test article on Tuesday. My ML season is going terribly, but the mode itself is coming along nicely, expect as much info as we can provide on the 18th.

On the 19th, we’ll be releasing some further information straight from the mouth of favourite fish-man, Shingo “Seabass” Takatsuka, when he’ll be giving his live presentation at Gamescom. What this means, we don’t quite know, but be assured you’ll find out as soon as we do.

Depending how good you’ve been this year there might even be a few surprises in store, as well as more of your questions being answered on both our twitter and the constantly updated Q&A thread at various points right throughout the week.

Phew. Sounds like a lot. That’s because it is! And all you have to do in making sure you never miss a single part of it is to check back regularly all week long - right here on PESFan.

VERY INTERESTING NEWS

One of the members of EUROGAMER who said pes 2010 was looking great, have now come out and said FIFA10 is better so far. This should stir up some debate.

"PES is a marked improvement, much closer to the things FIFA has pushed hard on since its 07 rebirth. They're both good games".

Then...

"I've played about 30 games of PES and about a dozen of FIFA, so I can't comment with complete authority, but I'd say FIFA."

ooooooo, that ought to wind some people up.

i think its safe to say the finished pes2010 will have the same look as the tactical slider video just with superior animation, those expecting something more landmark are heading down the dissapointment road this year.

if they can improve heading massively and the long ball and crosses plus keep the passing responsive it wont be a bad game.

i want 32-axis movement and passing(360)badly but am realistic and doubt konami have had the time to implement it.

well if one of the bloke from Eurogamer thinks fifa is better after playing only 10 games, it does make you wonder how big, this big news is.

And before people start with the code and build excuses, I think Eurogamer have the latest code available which is about 70% i think.

This doesnt mean pes2010 is shit at all, it just means fifa is most likely rapidly improving, which is what I have been saying for months now.

Time? They had lots of time, almost 3 years because they brought shitty games which only had transfers and changed menus. So that's no excuse.
If Konami doesn't deliver this time they get slaughtered. They will still sell tons of copies because most of the 14-year olds will satisfy with changed menus and transfers. But not me :realmad:

And when they dont deliver and dont make a good revenue they will have trouble next year with hiring 200+ people and thats not healty for the future editions as well...

fifa is looking promising although im a bit alarmed that the passing is still 8-axis as it means the feel will not be to much different from fifa09.

To effectively implement 360 degree movement(32-axis) you have to have freedom of passing on a 360 degree plain to complement this freedom of movement otherwise its more gimmick and will mean the glass is only half full.

Eurogamer have always been pro fifa so i wouldnt read to much into that.

Anyway correct me if im wrong but doesnt fifa10 only have 360 dribbling, this is very different then 360 degree movement or 32-axis movement as it should be called as 32-axis is the current controller limit of analog today.

i feel the same as you bud both pes08-09 where average hd remakes of the floored ps2 versions with worse flaws.

I want a true next gen product using a modern game engine not a recycled ps2 game on my ps3 with better graphics. The fact is PESs only redeaming feature is the short pass and the fact is heading and the long ball have been poor, piss poor, for the last ten years which is shocking.

The problem is pes2010 will sell well whether its average or not.....

Have a look at this video this is a 8 year old game on the ps2 by konami that had 360 degree movement and passing and a feature set that has still not been bettered and demonstrates more then anything else how fifa and pes are just not up to scratch.

from the Boss of Pesfan, who has palytested recent code

I'm not sure I understand some peoples points here, are people expecting an entire rewrite of the whole game 'a total overhaul'. Do they expect it to suddenly play from top down and be a complete change in the way we play football games, maybe strapping a 360 degree waggle stick to their foot?

Get realistic its PES its the same game you have all played a million times and loved over and over. What it is is the best version of PES there is with new features, improved graphics, better animations, better master league...the best version of PES we've had and probably the best football game around. PES 09 is a great game that as everyone knows has a few problems (online broke etc). It also includes changes and fixes requested by this very community!

PES 10 will be a better game you only have to look at the improvements being shown to know this game is going to kick ass.

interetsing read, as they have been critical of previous next gen versions

Thats the problem its the same game we have played a million times and even if its polished to perfection we will all tire of this ageing template that needs freshening up and bringing into the 21st century with true 32-axis analog control.

This guys full of shit people dont want 360 degree movement, they just want more axis of movement and more control of long passing and crosses, plus more then restrictive 45 and 90 degree passing and shooting.

So that kind of summes it up really a polished hd version of pes5 with a tactic slider and card system, whoopeee!!!!

^I would be happy if there will be a pes 5 with better graphics + new features because pes 5's gameplay was the best.

Two worrying things here,

1) He seems to be implying there is no 360 and no new engine, let me just be the first to say, if there is not, I personally will be kicking off, because the amount of fucking hints that have been dropped towards these 2 things being in the game is a joke.

2) He thinks pes 09 is a good game........time to fucking worry. Pes 09 is good in the sense that its better than pes 08, shit in the sense its one of the shittest pes's ever made.

I think it will be a better game. This year, it looks like Konami are actually paying attention to what the fans want. But I am hoping.
