For me it was about movement, and how the game flows. That was PES is about. The animations you all crave for are in FIFA. What PES has are animations that keep the game flowing, much better than PES 2009.

While everyone is busy comparing to FIFA, you should take a step back and compare to PES 2009. Massive work done between those games. PES was never going to catch FIFA for animations in one year.

but u handled this nicely.
too bad about the animations though if this is really the final product.
still think they look better than las year but then again animations don't make the whole game it just makes it nice to look at and that's always been FIFA's bread and butter.
the gameplay is what makes you play it a whole year

i think that if MO-CAP hurts the responsiveness of the game as a lot have mentioned then i think KONAMI is right not to implement it in a way that will harm the gameplay.
i wouldn't want another unresponsive football game on the market so............

Guys, I agree with you all. PES can never improve with sites like WENB that passes sweet talk but never is critical. One reason for the shocking disappointment in people over what has been revealed is that the game was so overhyped by people like Adam. As with you all, I cannot fathom why this guy keeps saying the animations are good, "amazing,", and keeps making desperate apologetic comparisons to PES 09 which is like saying "oh, we will never catch up, just be satisfied with the PES 09 type tweaking." That guy is a "total moron" and arse-kisser as somebody recently said. We don't ask for a super perfect simulation, but come on. Another guy mentioned this is half the life cycle of PS 3/Xbox360 already, and Konami has tried 3 times before, and still now can't come half way to Fifa's "level." The only thing is graphics, but what good is this if the gameplay utterly is the same clunky game from back when..
ANyway, here, at least we can be critical and discuss, not just sweet talk the game. I think it is too late for them to take our feedback and complaints and frustrations to do a major improvement.

I am thinking that the dribbling animations have suffered because they implemented 360 last minute in order to achieve what Fifa announced (too early for their sake it seems). So... Would you rather have 360 movement or better dribble animations? Of course, we expect both, but it seems likely to me that we might not get that. No one knows for sure what the final game will be like yet.

PS - To clarify, I'm talking about dribbling, not running animations. IMO the real problem is the way the ball bounces ahaed of the player as they run, as if on a yo yo, as opposed to there being a proper dribble animation where the player has to touch the ball to move it forward with a distinct kicking motion each time they advance the ball.

this is starting to piss me off now Tech and that deluded fool chinaman are just here to pick at pro evo and basicly ride EA's goal post of love... konami have made a vast imporvement on last year and for that plus added content plus updated features thats the making of a very acceptable game....

Tech come out with valid points but when someone picks you out for being fifa orientated you go mental and say your "opinion" is fact and thats all that counts..... i say fifa is unrealstic i have come at you with the points and you have debated...fair enough but when you come across thinking your 100% is very sad..

we discuss Pro Evo on this forum and yes that does include rivalry but not sole fifa subjects.....i suggest you stop looking for everything to be bad or just disappear to a EA forum!

ow feck, chinamans back, he did the same thing last year! i dont think the animations look poor, they just havent changed/added any new ones in a long time. if this is a early build then fine but its the build we will no doubt get as a demo as well, like last year. at the end of the day its all just speculation and opinions from a few videos but nobody will wait until actually playing the games to pass proper judgement. jeez i would take final fantasy 7 anyday over any xbox360/ps3 RPG and its graphics/animations generally suck and are outdated, gameplay is and always should be the deciding factor. left4dead doesnt even nearly use the graphical capabilities of a xbox360 but the game is still pretty dam awesome.

If someone can explain to me why konami took a 55% build to gamescom, with the new features missing, but gave the playtesters datasheets saying it was 80% (according to someone on evo web), who is to blame, me for raising the issue?

Or them for being stupid?

What we saw is actually the 80% build.

I dont really take it into consideration about what people on IGN,Pesfan, gametrailers etc say because you make your own mind up you see pics vids etc and judge your self...

i read them of course but take it with a pinch of salt....

im hoping the passion is back in pes this time around and maybe you can admit all this speculations and cloudy answers are just noncence.....

i guess we can only tell when the game comes out...

Why would Konami turn up to Gamescom, for the grand unvieling of pes2010, about 2months before release....

With a 55% build which doesnt have the animations or 360 movement they went to gamescom to talk about?

Thats like rockstar going to a massive convention to announce the new euphoria engine for gta 4, then showing people gta 3 on ps2.

Many year ago, there was this game,

It was called International Superstar Soccer.

I played hours and hours of this whilst growing up.

Now you wont be familar with this, mainly because PES4 was the first time you ever encountered a konami football game.

I am not an out and out fifa fan,

Im just excercising the right on a public forum, to give my opinion on the decline of the ISS franchise and how it is no longer the game it once was.
