PES 2010 v FIFA 2010 Review (by RTE)

Why are people so shocked when others defend PES? You're on a PES fansite so obviously people are going to be pro PES!!! What I can't understand is the people who come on here and tell everyone that PES is crap and then act surprised when people don't agree with them. And then make it their mission to persuade everyone that PES is crap. Once again, YOU'RE ON A PES FAN SITE!!!!!!

Pes fanboys arent as bad as fifa's. Pes fanboys are the people who stared playing pes pre Pes 2. From the start of Pes its pretty much been the case that its the better game so the pes fanboys wernt really biased because it was just a known fact that Pes was better on the ps2 and arguably up till 2009 so the stuff they say has credibility whereas fifa fanboys have spent most of their lives in a cave. These are the fanboys who from fifa 2000 - 2007 were showed complete ignornace and thought pes was arcadey when it was amazing. They have no credibility. To spend all those years thinking fifa was better when it just simply wasnt means that now when they say pes is crap you just cant take them seriously whereas pes fanboys have praised the game when its good and shot the game down when its bad so you can trust them.

I ALWAYS SAID THAT ARTICLES AND REVIEWS ARE OPINIONS.
And yes in my opinion the psm3 one was better because at least it got into detail instead of only slating.

At least the psm3 article stated better things in fifa unlike in here and they admitted that they favour pes more.
As I said in every review. It's an opinion.

This one prefers fifa (but in a bad way because it's way too obvious that he's a fanboy) but I have nothing against it. It's an opnion.
In every other review/playtest, it has been stated that in pes 10 it's hard to attack and it's more of a defensive game. This one says otherwise.
Something is clearly not right.

True. I am a fanboy of neither but to be honest I find PES a lot more exciting and enjoyable than fifa. I recently bought PES 2009 and find it more enjoyable than fifa 09 even though it has some problems. Although fifa has problems also!

yup, also alot of middle of the roaders started off when ISS turned to Pro Evo...you didnt come from playing fifa on the PS1 so were able adapt to the NEW style gameplay unlike alot to peeps who couldnt...

well then here i go with my history , i also started with ISS but on the N64, played it to dead after that i bought a FIFA game don't know which one it was anymore but it had BERGKAMP on the cover, i thought it was shit.
loaned it to a friend of mine and never asked it back.
bought a PS2 after that but COULDN'T FIND PES at the moment in my country so i kept playing ISS.
bought MLS extra time for ps2, thought the graphics for the time were great but the gameplay wasn't that good still better than FIFA.
bought WINNING ELEVEN 6 INTERNATIONAL and played that like no other game at the time.
still i bought FIFA games every year to give it a chance but they still sucked.
read on the net that WE6 final evolution played much better than the international version so i imported my first game after i chipped my ps2.
the game was out of this world everything about it was perfect.
me and my friends played this game like no other at the time.
i imported every KONAMI FOOTBALL GAME AFTER THAT.
STILL DO.
give FIFA a chance every year but they always came up short but i used them to edit my kits as accurately as possible so it still served a purpose.
the biggest let down was PES2008 PS3 but it wat still better than FIFA.
PES2009 is much better than PES2008 so i'm still very much enjoying it.
i'm looking forward to both demo's to make up my own mind but in the end i think i will buy both again to give them a fair chance. but honestly who do you think my money is on, not to let me down ?

played PES6 a while back but the graphics now just hurts my eye .
the gameplay still kicks ass but i just don't get the enjoyment now that i get when i pull something off in PES2009 it just looks and feels so real when u watch the replays.
that's also something i miss in FIFA even when i pull off something great i don't get the same feeling because it never looks real.

Fifa just lacks magic moments. I played Fifa for about 3 months at first i was in awe of its graphics and passsing game, but after a month or so the gameplay became monotonous. All i needed was a quick striker and it was the same goal over and over through ball to quick striker, one on one goal, on world class. I was never on the edge of my seat, this is a feeling only ISS/PES can create and that is why i will always favour it, call me a fanboy or whatever, but thats how it is for me

I was leaning more to the people who work in the games industry rather than forum posters when i was refering to fanboys.

Tech_Skill, you repeatedly refuse to acknowledge my posts made explicitly to you about your childish conduct on these forums.

I have no problem whatsoever with someone preferring FIFA to PES. It is your right to do so, has nothing to do with me and you are fully entitled to make your case in a grown-up manner encouraging discussion of a civilised nature.

Your behaviour, however, does have something to do with me and I am tired of you recycling the same conversations and refusing, point blank, to accept any point of view that differs to yours.

I am hoping you will open your mind slightly as I would rather not get involved in these situations but they have already gone way too far and become far too frequent - pretty much daily bar the few days you took Baddar's advice to steer clear of the PES 2010 section for a little while.

It is your choice whether you once again to ignore me and simply move to another thread to continue your ridiculousness there. Equally, it is my choice how I respond to that form of behaviour and it clearly will not have anything to do with your preference for FIFA.

On the subject of the thread, I'm bored of the reviews already. I'll be getting both games anyway (FIFA on PS3, Pro Evo on PC) and am hoping FIFA's immediate responsiveness has improved as I'm unhappy with it in 09. Clearly Pro Evo has a lot to work on and I'll know from the game. I personally do not feel that either demo will provide me with an accurate feel of the game - they clearly did not last year.

I just did a World Cup with my mate on PES 6 (360). It was pretty fun though on the lower difficulty settings we used in the group satge matches were pretty tame. When we got to the knockouts we had some quality games. We played France in the semi's and we went to extra time 1-1. We scored 5 mins into it but then they piled the pressure on stinging crosses into the six yard box of which one Henry headed into the crossbar from 5 yards and me and my mate just slowly, quietly looked at eachother as if to say that was fuking close. We got through after almost shitting our panties. We hadnt just spent an hour and a half playing this for nothing ffs.

We got to the final against spain and went a goal down after 20. We scored a funny goal in the 70th min with lampard making hard work of a cut back with it coming off his shin. We then scored an 86th minute winner that you simply couldnt write. Spain were attacking and they had just missed a pretty good effort which me and my mate thought was gonna be game over. David James, aka Jamo, lobbed the ball to Walcott who ran, ran, ran some more then fed a ball into the box. There was Rooney. He aproached it like a pro and put his boot through the ball almost puncturing it. It crashed into the underside of the bar.Thn sergio ramos smashed it suicididly against his own post. We were screaming at the TV squezzing are shoot button to the point it was coming out the other side of the controler. As the ball bounced out 3 feet off the ground out of nowhere came rio ferdinand. He cooly scissor kicked the ball into the roof of the net while me and my mate were screaming like a muderer had just come in through my window. It was so funny. We were like in slow mo thinking wtf is he doing here? We need that twat in defence!

I just had to share that. Quality game and im sure 2010 will be similar to the glory days. More happy times to come.

This is the thing, rather than the admins continually threatening me, ignoring the posts of people who insult me then yellow carding me for responding, (and there are plenty of examples) they should see that the flip side which is, more and more people are coming on here for the banter (which is hilarious). When I post here its like being the away side in the Bernabeau with 9 men and the refs not giving you anything.

And i know everyone is gonna quote me (as usual), but I dont care, thats my opinion and that's what happens when you don't tow the line.

To be honest, the SOLE reason I bother posting here is cos I was planning for the grand finale, my initial impressions on pes 2010, which would have been a classic thread for the banter (trust me, lol), then I would have called it a day, but who knows.

I couldn't agree with you more Jameslv. I had the exact same experience with Fifa! At first I thought it was a revelation :shocking:

The passing was superb and the player animations and heading were miles in front of PES. After about 2 months this completely changed though and I realised that you score about 75% of the same goals eg - Quick striker runs through and slips it under the keeper. I also felt the players were really rigid and it was impossible to dribble past anyone unless you were Messi!!

PES 2009 has got some major problems and it is def too easy to run through a team with a quick and skillful player , but it's just more fun and a lot more responsive.

If they slow the pace down for PES 2010, improve the computer AI and the ML is as good as it sounds, then it should be a hell of a game
