Wasn't there supposed to be a freeview box for the PS3 or something?

Hey, Europe. You're looking lovely today, has anyone told you that? Okay, quick like a band-aid: The PS3 God of War Collection won't make it to Europe this year. The collection includes the first two PS2 games in the series, updated with Trophies and 720p support.

Sony Europe's form response to VG24/7: "We are currently looking into options to bring God of War I and II to SCEE consumers on PS3; however it will not be possible to release the games this calendar year. We will provide further information in due course."

Here's a tip, though: The collection is unlikely to be region locked, so those in Europe who can't wait to experience Kratos' rage with all that extra "p" should probably check in with their favorite importers, or call up a Yank friend across the pond to sail a copy over.

:realmad: Got the fucking 8001054 startup error...

I now own a large black PS2/DVD player.

Awaiting response from Sony & hoping the fact that I have owned it trouble free and well maintained since release day purchase back in 2007 will stand me in good stead.

Not fancying my chances though.

Damn I hope you get it sorted out by Sony as soon as possible, and doesn't cost too much money - I assume your warranty has ran out now?

I've had the same PS3 since the year it came out, 2007 I think, and not had a minute's trouble with it.

I just hope this doesn't happen to me ::shocking:

Any guides online to try and fix this error mate?

Mine died a few weeks back that I bought on release day. The options are either they will send you an 80gb one for free, or for the price of £145 they will send you a new 60gb model! I had to go for a 60gb one since the newer ones dont have all the extras! But 3 of us clubbed together for it, it's not like I'm made of cash or anything...

Berry: I was just saying how I'd never had a problem with mine THE DAY BEFORE IT DIED! Watch out...

Just a tad. Had it from 12:25am on the 23rd March 2007. Yep, I was a sad fucker who lined up on release day.

Hmmm, difficult choice. I like my couple of PS2 titles and the SD card slots, so the 80GB doesn't sound too appealing.

I thought they stopped replacing 60GBs...

Fucking hope not.

I emailed Sony, they replied to say I'd have to call to ascertain what the error is, despite everything pointing to the BR drive. No time tonight, so will have to do it on Friday when i'm off work.

Anyone know if the new slim has backwards compatibility? Or is offered as an optional replacement?

Even when the warranty has ran out?

I shouldn't really be thinking of this, as I bloody hope this console stays with me for years to come, but I suppose if it was to one day decided "That's it, I've had enough" then you can't grumble at a 80gb console free-of-charge.

What does the now-rare 60gb have over the new-ish 80gb?

So did I, but I have a brand new one so I guess they are... Maybe only at a cost now? Not sure.

Berry: Yeah even though the warranty had ran out... Actually, it was my gamestation warranty that had it covered. They'd have given me the freebie, not Sony.

Oooh my PS3 was bought from GAME, no idea if they gave us a warranty, I wasn't there when my parents bought it, was my birthday present.

The (Sony) warranty will have definately gone out by now though, positive about that.

Mine was from Game too. Far as I remember it's 1 year standard. Hence contacting Sony.

The original 60GB version had backwards compatability & SD & micro SD slots. I use the slots for my camera so they really come in handy. Especially as I've lost the lead that connects it to my PC :faceplm:
