Two things we don't do:
Hoof corners away. I'm standing on the halfway line BEHIND the two players supposed to be marking me so if you hoof it anywhere I should at least be able to take possession. Just worth trying once in a while as its the role I occupy almost every time...except when the game throws me into the 18-yard box for no reason at all.
It annoys me when we have an attacking free kick and I'm set back to defend despite playing up front, it doesn't make sense to have your strikers in defence when you have a set piece opportunity.
I think mixing it between quick breaks down the wing and long balls would be best, but you're right we tend to avoid the latter.
We also appear to be generally scared of crossing the ball. The number of times I'm standing in the centre and its being played around the edge of the area in the hope of getting through on the ground is quite incredible. Admittedly heading is a bit of a lottery in this game but mixing it up won't hurt.
I do try to get the ball into the box if I'm out wide, but I don't know about the rest of you but I've found crossing to be a bit hap hazard online. This is one I think is going to depend who is in the box to be honest.
Fab ends up further forward than I do which is sometimes good in that my player is slow and turns like a tank but at other times is worrying.
All of the above is why switching to a 6'7 striker weighing 240lbs didn't work. I was able to tackle any defender who dared come near me but with no hoofing or crossing I was stuck. I'd drop a tiny bit off the front, get the ball and then have to become a playmaker to play Original? through earlier today which I did fine but it sort of defeats the purpose of me being that size.
Generally Fab does well just behind the strikers and plays people in well, there's no problem with a CAM breaking beyond one of the strikers, it's more concerning when CDM are doing it in my opinion.
I'm back to 6'2 and around 183lbs now.
EDIT: Chipped through balls instead of ones along the ground are nice and we don't play enough of those either.
I'm sure Phatmann will agree with most of this.
Good move if you ask me, 6'7" and 240 lbs was just too immobile.
I'm not a fan of too many chipped through balls though, unless the person has time and a high passing attribute they are very hit and miss. Keeping the ball on the ground is usually preferable as it makes the pass easier to control/finish for the recipient and they're generally more accurate.
Then again in your case we need to make the chance nigh on impossible, that way you'll tuck them away... we know you don't like the simple ones!
[EDIT] What's with all the kit changing? Can we decide on one to stick to? Preferably not a real team kit.
