Dribbling & Player Reactions

This year it is so much harder to take on a player - the dribbling is much slower and so is the player reactions. For example before feigning a shot was very effectice but on this years there is like a 3 second delay til when the player actually takes the fake shot. I constantly lose ball in midfield because of the players slow reactions, does anyone have any tips on how to make the dribbling smoother or anything?

you cant play this game like you are playing '09. I did and had the same problems, but once i started to get used to it and play differently i had better insticts of when to try and take a player on. With shot feints you have to have lots of space i'll admit but i think they can still be effective.

There is no way to make it "smoother or anything" you just have to adapt, i understand what you mean though those aspects have changed quite a bit, but you just gotta keep playin and play with them instead of trying to fight them! haha and the fake shots are alot less effective now but there is more you can do with them, you should experiment with the direction you press when you use a fake shot.

Yeah man. Them midfield battles are a real challenge. I guess you'll just have to keep going. But would you really want it any easier?

Of course i like the challenge, but i also want to conquer the challenge :p
It just takes some getting used to i guess, i just have played online and see people dribble really well whereas i really suck and thought there might be some ways to improve.
I do like the shooting though, feels much better, and the ball seems to have more freedom on this, making the midfield battle more predcitable.

The midfield battle is tough, lose the ball you won't get it back for like 2 mins and your fan start to boo lmao

I'd say you would want to pass the ball more around than dribbling. Unless you have someone with great dribble stats, then don't try it. This year they let us play many good short passes. I do agree on the player reactions though. So annoying when planning a shot..

It's not about "dribbling the whole opposition", it's just ridiculous how low stat players have a hard time TURNING. I can turn while running, I'm not a professional football player yet I don't trip all over my own mofockin' legs when I need to turn while jogging or even almost at a stand still.

I played a beautiful PES 2009, Joga Bonito passing game, now it's a horrible game of avoiding confrontations because you can't turn or pass without taking three steps towards another team's player and losing the ball after uncontrollably crashing against him.

KONAMI took the dirty road, the cheapest way to foment teamwork: making individualities unplayable.

You need to play as teams do in real life so no dribbling all the time. Dribble at the right moment and you can beat a defender.

I'm loving this new system. After playing FIFA 09/10 religiously (since PES 08/09 were utter shit), I have learned to rely more on passes rather than one man Rambo dribbling.

Go in with the philosophy of opening a defense and try to have as much open space as possible.
