Something I noticed when playing CB with someone, when they have a goal kick and kick it long one of the CBs needs to go up for it and the other needs to drop behind just in case the forward wins the ball so to pick up the pieces. It happened a couple of times with Green Giant. So just a heads up for you, Bez.

Also if you think I don't have any options to pass the ball forward try get in a position behind me where you're free for me to pass.

Ah, thanks for that heads up mate.

Some people will be on at say 2-4pm GMT as they're students, a lot of us get on from around 8pm GMT until as late as midnight. That's the typical scenario anyway.

Good games I was involved in last night but as I said before I left, the 2-2 draw we had against a fairly good side felt like a defeat because I was getting the impression during the game that we could beat them 3-2 and it made me chase around and position myself as though we desperately needed to score.

Was pissed off last night. I think in three attempts to play, I was disconnected each time. Usually, it's the fault of PSN, but that time, it was Tiscalli.

Yeah there was one game you played as any and all of a sudden I see you sign off on the PSN and just thought "Shit, we have to hold out for 70 minutes with the computer on any"

We survived.

70 mins? I'm sure it was the CPU from the beginning in that game, it just took sometime for PSN to announce Dragonfly's departure.

There were some great, some good and some annoying games last night. In a couple of the games in the middle my player felt really sluggish for no apparent reason.

Anyone fancy any games now while there's little to no lag?

On the goal kicks, sometimes I am tempted to move just a little bit forward to win those headers or run past the person heading so I can get the knock on - especially when we're playing 1 up front. Only problem is if we lose the header, then they have a lot of space in the centre and that's often cost us. Even we don’t have a big striker on, then either hit the goal kick just short a bit so I can knock it onto to the striker, or hit it to the wings.

Set pieces:
I think we need to decide on who takes the set pieces, we don’t seem to be converting enough.

The corners seem fine, it’s just who takes it usually comes out of position and needs to sprint back and lose all their energy. I would say right wing takes right side and left wing takes left side, doesn’t matter who’s on any or not. And, always to make sure we have at least two on the edge of the box just in case they clear it or catch us on the break.

I am not so sure how we would decide with the free kicks; because someone might have a good VP for free kicks, but shit at taking them. If anyone has any ideas, but I believe we should choose maybe 5 free kick takers in order, but if they’re not online then whoever is decides. I just see that most of the time we have free kicks we don’t convert them. I mean, if the free kick comes to me but Original is a free kick taker on the list, I have no problem in giving it to him all the time just so we can bloody score! If we’re winning by a few goals, then obviously there is no problem in anyone taking them or the free kick taker to give someone else a go.

Also, something else I noticed; don’t hesitate in passing sideways or backwards. Some of us have tunnel vision and can only see forward – which isn’t always best.

Been noticing this more and more in my RAM and CF roles. I'm guessing you see it all the time where you are.

I get frustrated with constantly being put on the halfway line when we have an attacking corner. Obviously it is something the game seems to think is amusing as we can't set things to that level. I try to get to the edge of the box but frankly am not going to make it without sprinting all the way (sometimes twice due to the change in taker) and it loses me too much stamina. Meh.

Yeah, last night and a few other sessions, I've been the set-piece taker for everything which is strange, considering I play centre-back. Can't our captain decide who takes what in the pre-match menus?

I'm coming on for a bit now.

played one of the craziest games ever just now... VP

we were Man U...
we scored in the 10, 14 min the first two goals then thay got one back
(19min) we scored again in 60min and 64th min then they got 3 consecutive goals 67, 71,84 min....

then... I got the ball and scored with a cool back heel shot in the 87th min and we won 5-4

This is a massive problem, we concede possession far too cheaply at goal kicks and defensive set pieces. If you can play it short, if not aim it to one of the bigger forwards.

With regards to corners, I'd be happy to take them. I'm unlikely to be winning many headers at 5'6" and I have decent curve. I definitely think it should be an offensive player; as you say it's dangerous dragging players out of position.

Free kicks, I've only scored one for the club but I don't think anyone has scored many? Fab, you seem pretty competent at free kicks, I'm happier with the ones around the edge of the box rather than further our like 27m+.

I know it's annoying when you're placed on the halfway line as an attacker, but erring on the side of caution I don't think we should rush too far forward in case of counter attacks.

The captain can't select player roles properly as they are adjusted when people select their positions.

When it's laggy I appreciate it's risky to play the ball around at the back, but there does seem to be an eagerness to pass forward constantly regardless of whether the pass is on.

I might be on for a bit just before the Liverpool game but if not I shall be on after it.

I think a list of set piece takers etc. as mentioned by Fab is a good idea. When it comes to corners I find that I can whip in a decent ball and have earned many assists from it but if I'm playing left back it's a nightmare getting back in position - especially from a right corner. As long as an attacking player is taking it that isn't Barndoor or Berry, we should be fine (I'm talking about the waste in their obvious height advantage in the box.)

I don't think we've used the driven free-kick often enough. I managed to cannon the ball in off Dragonfly's thighs from one driven free-kick and 99% of the time - if it's on target - the keeper will spill it. Now, if we had some attackers anticipating a spill, we could get an easy tap-in. Obviously this would only work from around 35 yards and under, although with my player's shot power, I have made keepers spill it from 40 odd yards before.

As long as the divine ponytail isn't taking the penalties, we should be alright there and with throw-ins, look for the giant throw if either myself or Barn are on the ball.

Few things i've noticed from playing four games with this team;

1. Too many long balls.

2. Bez tries to score own goals?

I played RAM for two games, in which I thought I played quite well, getting one man of the match award. One game at RM, which I had to leave halfway through cause my mates were outside, and one game at ST in which I scored 2 goals.

Please, please, please do not play long balls to me, I will never win them.

:D

Bez has got a couple of own goals. They can be unavoidable when playing CB at times. The ball ricochets around.

Those were some of the scrappiest games of Fifa I've played in, they were not indicative of our usual play. The football we played ranged from average to dire.

To be honest Original I think it was because in at least 3 of the games there was some real heavy lag.
