I think we should note that the CPU is very capable since the update and therefore it is no longer imperative to have someone playing as ANY. The only caveat being that people should be very careful about calling for the ball!

It seems a bit of a cheat and a bit boring if you have the CPU as ANY. Plus, you're leaving all the defending in the hands of the CPU who aren't the best at tracking the forwards or winning headers.

I don't think it is a cheat though I get what you mean Phats. I've had to adjust my style of play and go a lot deeper a bit like a true playmaker as I can't trust the CPU to build a decent level of attack. In fact, I don't think any of us trust the CPU to build an attack or play a decent through ball. It can also be a bastard trying to play the ball short to me in our own half because I tracked back even though I explicitly didn't call for it due to being marked. Makes me look to the rest of you as though I called for the ball when that was the last thing on my mind.

The only thing I'd say is that you must be mature when calling for the ball. I can imagine certain people getting themselves into a potential mess a lot of the time.

The sessions you, Barn and I had yesterday were a good example of how to use the CPU - especially you two. I rarely called for the ball as you and Barn were mostly feeding me.

Waiting....
I'm officially announcing my lengthy sabbatical as Any. Star can be removed from my playable positions. :faceplm:

I'm sorry for that red card in the match we played last :/

I think I've done well tonight, apart from that moment of idiocy.

When you get the chance to, try crossing the ball in onto my head more. Because by the look of things, I'm much more accurate with my head, than I am when the ball's at my feet

The 8-1 loss aside, I thought we had some decent games last night. I only insist on having the CPU as any when I know I'll get lag because someone else in the house is on the Internet, but otherwise I'm happy to do it. The 8-0 against those Spanish guys was particularly good, given that they were quite highly ranked. I really thought we played some excellent football in that, carved them open loads of times and scored some great goals. Having said that, Sweey you should have had at least two more, especially from that chance from the low cross I drove in.

I know :faceplm:

I had a rating of 4.7 at HT and had been abysmal. Fast forward 17 minutes and I was on a 10 and had three goals. Ended with five - slid one just wide of the post and then the last one.....although I pressed the direction of the goal and shoot to slide in, he curled his slide like it was a flipping tackle, the nonce.

Yeah to be fair I know the players can do some weird things even though you've told them to shoot at goal. On the whole it was an excellent display.

I'll definitely be on the PS3 tonight, after I've been to Cadets. I plan to stay up pretty late, so I hope there's a lot of us up for a good session tonight.

For those who weren't on this afternoon, I decided to accept a request by a randomer named xlivit (I think that was it) to join the team. He messaged me basically saying he wanted to join a team, and I just felt that it couldn't hurt. We won the first game 5-1, and were 7-0 up in the second before they quit, him scoring two. He played on left midfield (he can also play CAM, ST I believe) and did very well, getting back a lot too.

I know we have a policy about non-PESers, but I thought just once couldn't hurt. Plus at the time it was just me and Berry and we were looking for a third guy. It's always good to have more options.
