Best time to train skill cards?

I noticed that every player has different time and tolerance to training cards. Some still have stats increasing while training, others stay the same, and some decreasing.
Like rafael da silva, who when reach age of 25 is already at his peak, would have his stats decreasing tremendously if he is trained with another skill cards. Nani on the other hand is still going great at 27 and could train him probably 2 or 3 skill cards.

So based on your experience, what is the best time to train skill cards?
Like when a player is growing in their early youth?
Or when they are at their peak and stats are not increasing?
When it is transfer season and there's no game to play?
or when it's is peak season where the schedule is usually full eg. 2nd quarter or 4th quarter of the season?

anytime. As long as you have a decent amount of money. If a players ability is decreasing,it is always good to give them a few cards to help keep their performances high.

try and put them on during the summer window

I just give the whole team a new skill card at the end of the season, like literally after the last game of the season I put them all in training and they're done the week the season kicks off pretty much.

Do the skill cards in the off-season. The reason? Well, I've noticed players go a little strange when they are in the midst of either skill card training or new position training.

In my old ML team I bought Javi Garcia from Befica and he was a legend for me. Made him my captain because he was so awesome for me in midfield. Then, with ten games of my regular season to go and me 1 pt off the top of the premiership I decided to add 'covering' ability to him as he was a DMF....big mistake. He went all funny, couldn't run as fast and looked like he was having an asthma attack during matches. It was unbelievable how much his performances were affected by this.

Good news is that he got back to normal once the training was over.

But yes, skill card/positional change training definitely DO affect your players

That's true. I realised some of my players at Lyon went a bit wonky and their performances seemed a lot worse than normal once I started them on a skill training.

Perchance the issue could be that when u train a skill, you don't get to train his other attributes so they start sliding and this is then reflected in their play?

I find this especially pronounced when the player's teamwork starts dropping. They can't pass/cross well, can't receive passes, don't really run as fast as they can, don't cover or are not at the correct/optimal positions during various stages of play, etc.

I think the idea of being able to train special skills to any player is just ridiculous.
It´s a thing that just cannot be trained, that´s my view anyway.
I wonder what would happen if it was possible in real life :)

It´s a computer game though.

Most if not all of those cards can be instilled into a player in reality but it probably takes a lot longer than 8 weeks lol. Reaction, elastico, 1on1 finish, marseille roulette, and pk taker just to name a few are things that can be acquired with hard work and a bit of talent in real life.

That doesn't mean that any shitty player in Pes will become good just from learning a few cards though. Like in reality, just because you know how to pull off the elastico or marseille roulette doesn't mean you'll successfully pull it off every single time if you don't have the required level of skill and talent. Same applies to Pes. Take Benzema for example. He can do the elastico but he fucks it up most of the time. So Pes still keeps the common sense that you should choose wisely who to teach those precious skills to.
