Development Sheet

Hi,

Just made the switch from PS2 PES 2011 to PS3 PES 2011.

But when I started ML I came to a shocking discovery...the Development Sheet growth chart for my players doesn't show!?

Is this how it's supposed to be for the new gen PES?

In a way, it's more annoying, but it's also more realistic. Adds a bit more risk in signing players, because you don't know how they're gonna develop, just like real life.

I take it that you can see the curve in ps2?

Yes in PS2 you can see the curve.

I've actually come to enjoy it! Primarily, lets me focus less on their potential for potential, and just play them. I've grown players with less than amazing curves* into world class over a few seasons, due solely to actually using them instead of opting to play the guys with better growth curves and selling off anyone with a curve below a certain rating. Following from that, it requires one to assess and utilize players more for their individual qualities, which lends teams and gameplay more variety and realism. Instead of always going for the overall "best" player, one is more inclined to choose the guy with the optimum stats for his individual job. For instance, I got two youth team strikers recently. One has an OR of 87 with 80-90 stats nearly across the board and a few tricks, while the other has a 79 with mostly <75 stats, BUT 94 attack, 88 response, 95 shot acc, 94 shot tech, 87 header, 86 technique, 1-on-1 Finish, Reaction & Direct Play. Significantly worse player overall, but has proven infinitely more lethal when used properly.

*(You can [or could, anyway - haven't checked yet in '11] actually see curves in the section where you choose your Legends teammates, but only if they're also your teammate in BAL and your salary is high enough, if you want to "cheat".)

In previous PES games, I've found that the predicted development curve wasn't always a good reflection. When they're at an AI team, they'd usually stick to the curver, but when they're at your team, they'd develop a lot more.

Absolutely! That's where the value lies in the transfer market. The striker who is a 70, but higher in all the right spots and costs £1.5mil vs the striker who is 77 but average across the board and costs £3mil :)
