Same cheap goal after the same cheap goal

So first of all Konami sucks. No one makes such a beautiful design with FIFA 98 errors.

I lost a game 4-2. 3 goals are exact carbon copies. Low center from the wing keeper jumps above the ball, simple put in.

2 questions. First, I want to score the same cheap goal. It is not the 3 tap center is it? Cos' when I do that the ball goes anywhere but to the player in the middle.

Secondly, how do you defend against these retarded low crosses? Cos' I haven't figured out a way. The cursor system in the game (which is retarded by itself) hardly allows me to cover good space in the center.

Is it the simple pass button maxed to do these stupid passes?

The passes aren't hard at all really, go to the training field and practice and you'll get the hang of it.

The best way to defend it, is to anticipate it. Everyone attack this way, so what i do is have the ai close down on the dribbler, and I use my own player to tightly mark the best passing option in the center of the box. I often use the side step animation (R1/RB) and you will always intercept the pass.

If your opponent has any brains at all, he won't even try passing and will choose to try other ways to attack you, such as putting in a regular cross, or often times for the less creative opponents, they will just turn around, and run back past the 18 yard box and then run to the middle of the field and shoot or try a through ball.

This move is so cheap. I won't resort to it. I played a guy with a 280 million dollar squad last night who beat me soley because of this move (tried it over and over until it eventually worked). He had nothing else going for his game (except messi, ronaldo, ibra, rooney, etc, etc).

Lame, but until the last little while I hadn't realized how cheap this move is. Now it's top of my complaint list ;)

Anyway, rant over. I just think this needs to be fixed for next year. They are ugly, skill-less goals.

played countless games now where players just do that and no matter how brilliantly i defend they will sneak one into the 6 yard box and with 3 forwards 1 will get to it.

i will not be reduced to this and i keep on truckin!!!

A game of this quality should not have

1) Start the game chip the ball forward goals
2) Simple get to the end of the field low cross goals

There are my top 2 design mistakes... Of course really really it should not lag like this. It is like back to the future playing FIFA 98 or something...

PES is like a hot blonde model without a leg... you cannot keep your eyes off it but it makes you sad at the same time.

Yesterday I have a run of 15 matches,3 of them I had lose by 3-0 technical defeats couse "server has lost the connection becouse of the unknown mistake" (btw,I was avaliable online),for other 4 matches I had late and idiotical own goals + same idiotical late penalties for another 4 or 5 games.
So,I have lose 11 or 12 matches of 15 with a help of Konami "scripted" bullshit and "unknown mistakes".
Anybody knows how to defend against this shite? LOL

yes, no tackles inside the box, score some more goals and stop whining about 'scripting'

Luik not helpful. What are you 12?

Vasbor you are right. The original Konami team seems to play better than a team you build over weeks.

And this game has so many design errors it feels like playing Fıfa 98 sometimes.

But scripting IS in the game.

It's a "feature"

Have you even played PES before?

Let me guess, let me guess. Cut back pass is your super special goal scoring tactic that you developed on your own :w00t

so i ve stopped playing...again. it seems even in d2, the only ppl left playing are the idiots who all play like d1 folks. i just had messi win header after header over vidic. pretty redik

i think scripting is a so called 'self fulfilling prophecy', if you think you are scripted, you will be scripted..

About the messi header, please find the second goal (2-0) in the 2009 CL final, wow pro evo IS realistic! :)

sorry cut back pass is not my tactic, i try the passing game until my striker is in front of an empty goal, unfortunately this is very difficult to achieve but thats what keeps the game a challenge for me, just try to play your own game and do no concentrate on either the oppents messi/ronaldo/arshavin team or the 'scripting',

football will survive! :)

cmon luik...i m talking when 2 players are just going for the ball in the air....
soo realistic

and if i remember correctly the goal u speak of had messi wide open he didnt challenge anyone for the ball

hehe oke oke, youre right, i misread your post.. Excuse me :)

but if you eally lose header after header from messi with vidic, maybe you should try something else, use the pass button instead of the shoot button or other way around, use the R2 (for ps3) button to manually control your player and try to get in front of him, or maybe its the timing of your header.. everyone can be beaten, even messi

if this al doenst work, just buy Heitinga! :)

Ali

It is happening again

I've noticed there are 3 situations that occur when challenging for the ball in the air, at least after a goal kick:

1) Your player is in front of their's - You don't even have to jump for the header, just let the player control the ball on his chest.

2) Your player is behind their's - Don't even bother trying to challenge, you're gonna fail.

3) Players are roughly side by side - You'll actually have to challenge for this one, about a 50/50 outcome.

What about the situation, when player is not even under your control, but he is running himslef like a moron in own box and doing useless and harsh sliding tackle?
Usually,I have got late penalties this way.

luik^3

if you dont want your AI teammate to make sliding tackles, you should turn off the 'sliding tackle' feature in the 'auto trigger setting' menu

Konami has admitted that there is scripting in the game as a "balance" feature.

I think they consider it "momentum" which isn't anything like the momentum systems I've seen in EA Sports games.

As for goal kicks and headers, I always aim far left or far right as your sidebacks are more likely to be unmarked or challenged by small wingers who you can beat for the header. I always avoid kicking to the center of the pitch
