I've enjoyed MLO much more than I thought I would - Here's a clip of my recent goings on.

How do you do that chip? I've tried to learn it, but the best I've ever done was doing it accidentally, most of the time it doesn't chip it's just a regular shot.

mate those goals are quality ....... proper quality.....

As for me Im in Div 4in the promotion spots... team is pretty solid...

Love the mode ... best thing since sliced bread.. so much so Its going to be very upsetting to get rid and start again in PES 2012 ... ;)

It's the L1 lob. I usually have the best luck when I try them with a full power bar.

Every year Konami alter the lobs, sometime the R1 is effective, sometimes the L1 and sometimes neither.

Have a go in training, I find that they are most successful when you try shooting from an angle. You need a player with good technique though.

thanks

Just tried playing online again, got creamed. Been since like January since I last played.

hate playing against good strikers controlled by good players, it's waaay to easy to hit long shots.

I wish there was more tactical control over formations. Guess I'm too used to playing Football manager. I was trying a 2 DM 2 AM and 2 wide WF that I concocted on Football manager. It's pretty much garbage as the wing forwards almost never cut inside and the AMs get lost deep in the midfield. Was fun trying though, the WF really got a lot of space, just had nobody to feed the ball too near goal.

I remember why I hadn't played online in months. Didn't have any cheater problems, but the lag is usually bad (I've never played a single person from North America since I've bought the game)

Just had back to back bad games. The 1st was too laggy to even pass. I would have won the game as I could see all the opportunities to score, but it took 5 seconds from when I press the button until it actually passed....

The last one, took me 5 minutes to find a player in a tournament, and it was a little laggy. Had a break away on goal, the power bar active for the shot and I had a clear goal in front of me. Guess what happens...my striker refused to shoot. He STOOD there (remember the power bar was charged and I was never touched and never lost possession). What's even worse is the stupid AI defenders had no idea what was going on and stood around as well (obviously bewildering and frustrating my opponent). I couldn't move my striker and he refused to shoot for a good 3 seconds. The opponent finally switched to an active player and took the ball right from my fucking feet.

An absolute joke.

Mlo

Ok Montaro, now remember to breathe!

Think the game is only so frustrating because it is so good and there's some really glaring problems that need sorted in the gameplay, remembering it's the first year of MLO I'm really excited about how it'll play next year as I'd hope some of the more obvious flaws (players standing watching the ball etc) would be ironed out! Speaking of which- Ronaldo 33mill?! I've played 1300 games and I still can't afford him!

To keep to the thread name however, I broke my thumb a few weeks ago and had to resort to the coach mode which I'd derided many times over before (I did try playing full mode but just too painful!). I quickly became addicted, it was great to set it up and leave it to play in the background while I did other things, a little check or substitution every now and again. However my team had overachieved big time with me controlling them and so I've blown millions on tournaments failed and currently relegated from Div 1 right down to Div 4! Now the network is down my thumb is healing a bit so managed to play a little BAL (can rest every now and again as one player isn't involved all the time) and hoping to get back to playing full games soon.

What it has done now is given me a challenge- I'm really looking forward to the task of getting promoted again once I start playing. If I go to Div 5 I'm gonna make it a mission to try to win each div cup added to my Man Utd theme which is as follows:

Van Der Saar

Rafael
Ferdinand
Silvestre/ O' Shea
Evra

Giggs
Fletcher/Carrick
Veron/ Scholes
Park

Berbatov
Rooney

Would love to buy Vidic, Tevez, Forlan, Valencia and Ronaldo but that's a rather long term goal!
I know Man Utd are a good team to choose for this but at least I've a theme, many others out there based on countries/clubs/silly names? Saw a few a couple of months ago but not much word on them recently

I've been playing PES for a while, and I really have no faith on things being ironed out.

With how Konami works they iron one thing out and wrinkle something else.

I blame their business model.

I mean I really don't enjoy playing. BAL is okay, ML is shaky and limited, MLO has issues, nearly game breaking general gameplay issues all around, almost no product support. The most fun I ever have when I play PES is when I'm in training learning new tricks and shots (fun to knock in a few free kicks with the knuckle ball shot [no spin on ball and random swerve] and I can't justify buying a game for it's training mode.

lol....... you make me laugh montarano... sure your not on FIFAs payroll?

agree with u, it must be fifa or EA sports, or he is just really bad and cant score during open play.............. nevermind, keep practicing shooting in training and one day you can play ..............maybe..................... and enjoy it!

*yawn* here comes the pubescent pimply fanboys who lack basic communication skills.

And no, EA sports are just as bad as konami. Very similar in how they produce products.

True, I am rusty from not having played in months. That doesn't change the facts that I previously mentioned in all the half assed game modes in PES.

As I said before, Konami prefers to rush a product with a catchy "new feature" in order to maximize revenue. EA is exactly the same. Konami also never fixes real issues in the game, instead they choose to increase revenue through boot advertisements.

Next year will be the same. The motto next year will be "total football!" but nothing will change, MLO may be shaken up a bit, but the game will still be limited and impersonal and significant gameplay flaws will emerge and never be fixed.

Now if you want to step up to the grown ups table and actually intelligently comment, please feel free, until then go back to spending 100's of hours playing video games and drinking Mt Dew.

Well I was telling how I was doing. Some people just didn't like the content *shrug*

I just can't get into MLO. Feels repetitive, plus having to play people half way across the world makes finding opponents a pain sometimes (nothing like sitting for 5-10 minutes waiting to find a game)
