After playing for a long time (offline) with my friends and in tourneys,i finally found out what the overall best formation is, which works best with top teams like barcelona , real madrid , chelsea or united.

5-2-3
It will look something like this:



Extra Tips
Also keep in mind it is important when you attack to have fast players as rwf and lwf so they can run to low cross. ( push fast crossing button 2 times).
And when you are attacked to control a midfielder and go as close to your defence, while at the same time holding the square button (ps3) that button which makes all your team players around pressure for the ball.
And of course, if your playing with ur friends, don't forget to pressure them. Things like Omg, are you blind, the lines are white.
Or Don't worry bro, your are the best, you already won even though that match hasn't started and keep annoying them, they will play really bad.

I've always been a big fan of playing 5 along the back, it allows your fullbacks to get forward without as much risk, even one of the centre backs can start passing and moving. The only problem with doing it online is most of the Barca kids will d/c out of frustration when they can't break it down.

Most of the time i win 1-0, or 2-0. And the maximum goals my opponents do is 1. They mostly stay at 0.I don't remmember the last time someone did 2 goals in the same match.
I am also a fan of solid defending and annoying those barca kids :)

I used this kind of formation alot ,but with wing-backs instead(Genoa's formation before the patch).But your version looks like stick as many men behind the ball and look for the counter.Whats your win record using this formation?

Not a fan of having 5 across the back, personally, but I do like the idea of fullbacks getting forward, so what I tend to do is play a very deep defensive midfielder, who, preferably, has the 'cover' trait, allowing him to cover the full-backs when he goes forward.

You don't have to flood the defence to keep the sprinters in check.Use straight line back four ,man mark the winger's with your full-back's and man mark ther lone striker with your dmf.Obviously that is for someone is playing 3 up front,let's be honest that's nearly every game.If your a good player who can control the game with technical slow build up football don't look past Roma's default formation.That formation got me to 720 points in the ranking's in the match lobby's.Or if you want to play an open game and utilize the whole pitch Lyon's formation you can't go wrong.That's served me well recently.

The only team i would play without changing formation is Juventus.
It is so hard to beat, i don't know why.
