Why is the AI still the worst AI in all of sports gaming history?

I find turning the game speed down gives me that extra fraction I need to concentrate on building my play.
I would say however the AI can be like Barcelona when they get the ball of you in some circumstances, you're lucky to get the ball back and at least twice in a game they will steamroller up the pitch to score a goal.
That said I still prefer it to PES2011 and prior in terms of AI and also from what I've heard the AI on FIFA this year isn't particularly challenging so I'd stick with PES.

This is bs, care to explain?
From what ive seen so far the only thing AI looks to do is rush forward and shoot, theres no build up possession play.
Not sure if you're just beyond fanboy or blind to what AI actually is.
The AI in this game, be it ML, BAL, or regular Exo play is pure awful. If you haven't ever played BAL, go for it. See how often you see the PERFECT set up, or set up an AMAZING run, only to have your AI clear the ball to touch when in the attacking 3rd. In standard play, your AI does nothing but try to foul on defense, or simply lets to attacking AI run right past.
It pains me to say it, but FIFA 12 AI is far superior, they must have had the AI folk from Madden come over and lend a hand.
Oh, and lets not even get started on keeper AI.
The AI on FIFA isn't amazingly hard on any of the lower settings, no, but neither is it on PES. PES = Rainbow flick go for goal. FIFA = rubbermaid, go for goal.
Both have their slight challenges on Top Player (and whatever the FIFA equivalent is). However from what I've seen after playing both demos, FIFAs new momentum system is much better than this one PES is trying to implement... which is bar none awful.
Also, FIFA has GK BAL mode, = win xD

I played as Tottenham vs Inter. They passed the ball up the pitch and then passed the ball past my keeper for a tap in. I watched it happen. I also watched Bayern do the same thing.

What a load of rubbish, though that doesn't surprise me.
This game features IMO the best AI any football game has on the next gen consoles. They pass it through defense, they often do cross field long passes, they pressure you, they can pass rings around you, do tricks properly, do intelligent balls, don't rush everything anymore by just hoofing the ball up front when you pressure them. So I don't know what you're playing but it's not the same game that I am, because the AI is simply incredible.

Hold on a minute. You have the cheek to demand an explanation on why Sminky holds his view, yet in your opening post, you simply state that the AI is horrible with no further elaboration on why it's horrible.
You sound like a wind up merchant to me.
Why pick up a game you apparently hate just because you don't enjoy PES12? If I don't like a game I'm not going to buy a lesser version of the same type.
You're last paragraph makes no sense. As those who've played PES12 know that the AI don't just simply rush forward without any build up.
Anyway I don't know why I'm wasting time on you because you're clearly as thick as pig shit.
And no one here really could give a rats ass on whether you like the game or not. So why don't you do us all a favour and do one.

No not really. If you hold L1 while you pass, then the player who released the ball will make a run forward.
Basic stuff that you should know by now

I agree with you.
It seems like the players make less runs than last years unassisted.
It wasn't long ago that Seabass was saying he didn't want to implement an off the ball movement what is controlled by user input like they have done this year , but rather wanted to just implement a more intelligent A.I.
But it's a lot easier to tack on this awkward off the ball movement than actually spending some real time and money on a much more intelligent A.I teammates.

The difference between FIFA and PES is huge, however none of them are far superior in any way. Both games are more or less failed attempts to create a good footy game, where both are decent and nothing more.
I prefer PES for some reason, because in the past at least, PES haven't felt as shallow as FIFA. I still prefer PES, but I am not sure if I am gonna stick with my old argument any longer.
Either way, it "pains me to say" that you have no idea what you are talking about. Opinions are subjective ofcourse, but to be taken seriously you should at least back up your claims a little better. I automatically think you're the kind of virtual footy player that inherently suck at PES, and that's why you dislike it. Yes, PES is in many way less straight forward than FIFA, but I think that is one PES's biggest and last strength over FIFA.
Try sounding more like a dick when you post next time. Play me in PES any day and get run over. I have no reason to claim any more than the fact that I find the AI in 12 vastly lacking. My later posts expound on the fact further, but if you're too fucking lazy to even read the thread then bugger off and don't post in here again.
