EVERY SINGLE FEATURE IN THIS GAMEPLAY IS BROKEN!!!!
Nothing changed except the fact that konami has made it easier to ping pong pass by moving your defenders out of the way and not allowing you to change cursor.
Scripted goals are a comin'!!!!

Just gave up a goal where guy takes the kick off, kicks it to MY RB who I can't get in control of. I have to watch him stutter step around the ball until their LM goes to get it. At this time, konami gives me control of the player so I attempt to put pressure, only to watch him LUNGE and toepoke (90 degrees no less) a screamer of a cross along the ground to my LB who decides to RUN AWAY FROM THE BALL WHILE THE CURSOR IS ON HIS HEAD! The ball ends up rolling to his RM that came from 35 yards away to one time the shot (he had pressed it right after pressing the cross) right at my keeper and into the goal.
Over and over again I watch as my opponent passes without a thought to direction and konami makes it all work out for them by not allowing me to defend or change cursor for seconds at a time. Even when I am standing right there, some silly animation that allows me to miss the ball happens.
Manual pass...I play the ball just in front of my player, the game decides it was for the player on the other side of the field and I can't change cursor until opposition wins the ball. Meanwhile the guy on my team standing next to the ball has no idea it's there.....Scripted beyond reason
The system is broken. There are just too many scripted sequences in this game for me to take it seriously. It seems obvious konami is fine with being 2nd. I can't think of one thing that works well in this game other than the online connectivity being improved and the patch slowing down the game speed. But this slowdown only glorifies the scripting. Gameplay and freedom pale in comparison to even FIFA (which should show you how far this series has fallen).
The fatal flaw is that the programmers have little knowledge of football. This is why they continue to code a game that has no freedom and just automatically does the things they have seen on tv, with little regard to context.
Now just press the special controls button and if you run right into the defender, the ref will call a foul...Only because you pressed 'special controls', not because it was a foul.
That's why hitting a chipped through ball activates the opposition defense running forward to clear the space AFTER the ball has been kicked to them.
That's why ping pong passing is effective without regard to direction faced, pressure faced, pace of the ball, or players body position. Because no matter what, konami will decide if the pass should be completed, not the player and ANYTHING he/she may do.
I haven't played FIFA 12 and I traditionally don't like it. And I don't really expect to now. But these idiots (konami) have forced me to go and try it out. Almost positive that it can't be any farther from football than this (Also almost positive that I'm going to have to learn programming myself and make my own game )
I am going to assume (oh assumptions!) that a game of FIFA between two knowledgeable players is MUCH BETTER and more realistic than the same in PES. This is because konami dictates 95% of the game.
Some may say FIFA is boring. For me, PES' scripted, forced, predictable excitement equals no excitement at all....
Oh and how could I forget; so far I've won three times, drawn once (thanks to the goal described above), and lost one. (for the inevitable intelligent responses)
How is it that while I defend a corner kick, the ball comes directly to me, and konami switches my player to someone who has no chance??? (My cursor is on semi-assisted)???? They literally switch your player to the player that has no chance to win the ball.
A PISS POOR FRANCHISE WITH NO ANSWERS, END OF...and I won't be sad when it's dead....even if I don't ever play one game of FIFA.
