AJ is my new Giles Barnes..

cheers gents for various gems on here, the form graph and stuff will come in handy.

I'm still trying to get the hang of this version, as in every year the new game is slightly different and takes me a little time but I enjoy the challenge and at about 25% win rate with a very basic team I think it's roughly right in terms of difficulty so far and very few Messis and Ronaldos actually playing (sometimes in the squads but presumably not able to renew contracts) though quite a lot of Villa's..

For my two pence I've got Piatti and Andrew Johnston up front- Piatti because I played someone and he totally took me apart with him, cue "I gotta have him" moment! He's destroyed some much bigger teams almost single handedly (footedly?!) but I appreciate the speedsters have a bit too much of an edge. AJ  was great last year so I took a punt as he's cheap and he's scored something like 50 in 60 games, which for someone who's not very good is an excellent return.

I agree with the fact that 1 on 1 the keepers are horrendous, but I've found that to mostly combat this I've dropped my line deeper and bought Cudicini who's a good, not too expensive keeper.

Could I ask, from reading the various posts I think you make more money depending on how expensive your squad is? Does this mean I should bring in as many players as I can even if they're rubbish? Remember in the last version this was a tactic to fill up the 16 players. Or does it help if my players are more expensive? Is it just the players that play, includes substitutes or my whole squad that define this figure? And do the default players values also go up and down with the form graph? I've been releasing them if they get to the end of their contract and they don't play enough but struggling to improve my team by very much despite having played 100+ games.

Bring in as many players that you will use and help your team rotate. Because of stamina and form I have a 25 man squad. 11 starters usually on reds and yellows bench's yellows and greens and then future starters mite be on greens and blues.

You make your money as your team grows/better players join your team and its not that hard to get players since you make good money every match.

Do release your players as they head down from green when their contracts are up. It keeps the game fun playing with different players and style.

Also I've come to realize that the form statistic does matter. The graphs are wider for players with 6 and up, and steeper for 5 and down. I think they could expand on this idea more, but the players I have with good form are on my team for a lot longer than the others and you can see it on the condition graph why.

I have like 700mln team, and do not own one of barcelona players. I just made like 26 players in my team already, they rotate in nice manner, I never have fatigued players because of that. so the average overall of my team is like 83? and alot of substitutes to chose from. I often win versus people who have all-star teams, but almost no bench. This is because their players are just fatigued after last games...

You're being mislead by thinking "hey, I can beat teams with messi and co., my team is only average!" The game this year is balanced in terms of how the game is more fliud. And beating these strong team only means they are facing Eto'o/Pato/Villa/Sachez every other game.

As for fatigued, you would think so but the truth is they just bought their new star players to face players like you. The bottom line is, show some respect when playing all-star teams.
