Hi everyone , i live in england n have ps3. when i try to play pes 12 online , most of the time , i get extreme lag and the pace of the game becomes very slow. I also wanna mention that my broadband speed is 30mb ( which works perfectly apart from pes12 online) Is there any particular settings that i need to do to play this game without any lag ?

would be great and appreciated if anyone can enlighten me about this manner..

thanks in advance

its not always you, but often your opponent. I can play 10 games in a row with no problem, then suddenly the 11th is lagged, but the 12th fine again. As long as you are on a wired connection you should be OK most of the time.

But I'm not .. Although I'm on a wired connection , i struggle to play mos of the time. Is there any port settings I'm supposed to do . Because my one is on auto now. Thus, you know the bar at the right top side of the screen which shows power of ur signal My one is always on 1 ,never seen more than 1 .

You might be playing the USA version of the game or somewhere other edition thats not european. I live in England and I accidentally ordered the american version and my online is lagging frequently. Try using an ethernet cable for your PES 2012 or some router do directly connect it to your wireless box. Normally an ethernet comes with a wireless box so try finding it in the original pakaging

I just don't see why a wireless connection would make it lag worse than using an ethernet cable. I thought it depended on the speed of the connection

but also depends on the strength of that wireless signal. It takes me 5-6 min to logon to konami's server wireless, but 10 seconds to do it wired. I lag when wireless, but never when wired. My wireless signal strength around 80-88% but never as good as being hardlined.

I need a bloody longer ethernet cable as my one doesn't reach from the wireless box to the ps3. Hopefully there'll be an extension cable in the attic. I'll look there tonight

I have 100 ft of cable moving through my house from the upstairs to the downstairs. My wife hates it. So do I really. So I only connect when I know I am playing online but take down before I am going to bed. I need to drill a hole in my outside brick otherwise and not willing to do that right now.

There is a cool adapter that you plug your router into the electric socket, then another adapter from another socket to your PS3. So your internet is connected via your electric circuitry. Read one review that the two sockets need to be on the same line or speed is slowed down. Never tried it, heard mixed reviews, but it would remove the 100ft eyesore snaking down my steps and under rugs.

Guys , I wonder one thing , you know the signal bar on the top of right corner , is that for both wireless n wired connection , because my one always shows only one red bar, is it supposed to be green ?

I've been doin online research about this lag , but no luck so far n about to go crazy , having those slow pace and lag with 30mb broadband speed, really dunno wat to do , btw ı get those lags n slow pace when i use wired connection though !!

Yeah i notice these bars as well being red all the time. I really think it's shite that you can't play lag free without a cable, since every other use of internet works just fine wireless.

USE Speedtest.net and see if you really are getting 30mb download speeds.

I have those plug things you are talking about. Wired connection via electricity sockets. Works VERY well! my sockets are quite near each other so dont know if that makes a difference.

Yeah I also get that slow motion lag type games. On a wired connection too

I'm with BT 8MB but getting Sky 24MB next week and hopefully better

I don't want to sound arrogant, but I know my stuff. I know for a fact that I can play lag-free with a 2MB connection, and still get lag on a 16MB connection, while both were wired connections.

I also know why: I had the 2 MB connection all for myself, whereas I had to share the 16MB connection with 2 other computers and friggin 3-4 smartphones.

The source of lag was the traffic of the other users. Increasing the bandwidth (i.e. getting a better connection) will not help. What does help is getting a proper router with good QoS settings, and setting rules that will prioritize traffic to the portnumber my PC uses for PES 2012 online.

Even better would be to get a connection for myself alone.

PS:

For those who say "Internet works for everything else fine, it only lags while playing PES."

Most probably it lags the whole time, but you only notice a lag of say 20ms when playing PES.

Tell me how you will notice such a lag while browsing or watching youtube, or even playing online games that do not involve awesome reflexes (eg. strategy games).

PPS:

For the person who did not know that using wireless will increase lag:

Think of it like this: You have to transport boxes from the window of one building to the window of another. A wired connection would be like having a cable-car system, where every box always reaches the other window, in the correct time.

Wireless would be like throwing the boxes from one window to the other. Not all of them will arrive and will have to be re-thrown. This is your lag.

Just to add to this ..As far as connection goes download speed is far from the most important criteria... Also bear in mind upload speed, connection quality line interference and other variables

.

I haven't noticed GT5 lag on wireless or wired racing from the USA to the U.K. Split second actions there. Yet with PES I routinely can get lagged.

The KONAMI servers are so bad at night. It's laggy, it crashes your match and its bloody annoying. Out of 10 matches, I can play a full 90 mins 3 times thus showing how laggy the servers are. I always lose my match because the lag messes up your player movement and everything feels jerky and it always leads me to losing matches. I'm trying to get a longer ethernet cable as I have a really short one leading me to play on Wireless.

I don't entirely blame KONAMI, as it is my fault for getting an American version in England eventhough in games like GT5 you can play across the world wirelessly without experiencing any lag

i think what KONAMI can do is do a dedicated server for every region... This will less the complaint and made it more fun.. rather than have 1 server in europe and Asia...
