Just read on falloutwiki that Bethesda were working on 2 games since Fallout 3 was released, one of the games was Skyrim and the other is yet unannounced. Most likely the other game is Fallout 4.

I think I said earlier that Bethesda were hiring for a next gen project, I seriously hope they havent been working on Fallout 4 with the PS3 and 360 in mind (and same engine).

I'd much prefer to wait another two years or so and see a brand new engine on a next gen console, if only to avoid the crippling shitness of the gamebryo engine on the PS3 again.

The glitching really is getting quite frustrating but I'm hanging on in. I've kept my Cowboy build and I've got myself a Hunting Shotgun, the weapon is absolutely immense. I'm taking out Centurions with a couple of 12 gauge slugs ... speaking of which, man alive, how many Legion Assassin's am I going to have to deal with? The swines appear constantly, well they are a great for raising cash with the armour and weaponry ... but I'm not wearing any armour for one of my perks and where I've not augmented my damage threshold yet I'm getting minced by heavy fire.

Also, I'm having to accept that I'm going to need to improve my Charisma because I'm having to keep Boone alive in combat when it should be the other way round. Even with the implant I'm going to have to waste at least 3 perks to get his damage and damage threshold to 20% of his current base. Darn.

Picked this up for £20 from Gamestation in their pre-liquidation/administration sales.

Gonna play a lone wanderer sniper. Exploring the waste one scumbag corpse at a time. A man of few words and even fewer acquaintances, known to shoot first and ask questions.....never.

I've played a Sniper run through before, best Sniper for critical hits is the Gobi Scout Campaign rifle, although it delivers less of a punch than the Anti Material Rifle with finesse, better critcal's sniper and commando the weapon is a one shot kill against tough foes. Well, except Death Claws.

Started my campaign. Varmint rifle is my weapon of choice at the moment until I find a replacement long ranger. Playing it stealthy and picking off targets from long range, as any good sniper would do.

Put most of my skill points in to Guns, Sneak and Repair with a few going in to lock pick and or medicine each level. I think that as i'm aiming for my character to be a lone wander type I'm going to avoid in investing in things relating to Charisma (speech, barter etc) and pour the bulk of my points in to agility and perception. I won't be having compaions, so ed-e's "enhanced sensors" ability won't be coming in to play.

I've absolutely hammered it out (fnar) on Fallout New Vegas, I'm at the point of completing the main story so I'm taking a break from it. I've still plenty of side quests to do and the DLC and I'm unsure as to which direction to take the character now. My current Special reads ...

S 6
P 6/7 (+1 Cattlerancher Hat)
E 8
C 4/5 (+1 Bounty Hunters Duster)
I 6
A 10
L 9

Cranking up the Charisma has really helped with the companions, I'm only two short of recruiting all of them for the Trophy as well. Veronica has been the most effective so far, plonked her in Power Armour with the Q-Modulator unique Plasma Rifle, she's fairly deadly.

A nice touch is that rather than wait outside of the Lucky 38, companions now wait in the Presidential suite of the Lucky 38 ... and interact with each other. Lily insists of talking to Rex, its rather amusingly weird.

I'm thinking of making this sniper play through non-dlc then going back and starting a new campaign for DLC with a suave, sophisticated, smooth talking, pre-war attire clad business man.

I've leaned towards a more military based character now, with a heavy leaning towards a Ranger type. I've been completing side quests and a lot of unmarked quests building my XP for what will essentially be the final assault on the DLC. I'm going to Trophy whore myself on FNV as I did on FO3. There are not many games that I can be bothered to do the full 100% but this is one.

I'll need to revisit the game at another point as a Energy Weapons/Melee/Unarmed player to get all the trophies but a quick mention on the smooth talking build, my character has now got speech of 100 and Charisma of 4, this has been a real swerve away from the Cowboy character. I realised quickly that even on Normal decent armour and weapons with high critical chance are essential to surviving when ambushed by even the toughest of foes.

With 50 level ups it is possible to veer off in other directions in character development if you give your character high enough intelligence for the skill points. Educated perk equates to 4 points of Intelligence in skill points.

I think I've just encountered another bug in the game. I've been wearing Riot Armour which is non-specific to any faction, I've since acquired the White Glove Society attire for Veronica (but wore it to complete beyond the beef). I was clearing out the Deathclaw Promontory for Deathclaw Eggs and XP to discover when looking at my pip boy that my reputation with the NCR and Caesar's Legion has disappeared completely. It says I'm back to Neutral. I tested the theory out by travelling to Cottonwood Cove and I was attacked on site (but then I had Veronica with me). I went to the ammo supplier at Hoover Dam and although he will still supply me he keeps saying "I don't think you should be here". I've no idea what has prompted the change but it's bloody annoying.

My NCR Emergency Radio (which I haven't used) doesn't work either, I keep getting a response of Reputation With NCR Too Low - Support Withdrawn. It maketh no sense.

Ah, I think I've cracked it. I got the Explorer Perk and it seems to have bugged out my game for no reason. I'm going to have to go back to a previous saved game. I've lost about 4 hours game play. God dammit.

I'd stop playing the game if that ever happened to me.....couldn't be arsed to redo all that effort.

It's not as bad as it could have been, I had mainly been exploring as opposed to doing any quests. The real pain, is that I have to do the Deathclaw promontory all over again.

What seemingly bugged out the game using the Explorer perk is that it map marks destinations, only available after specific DLC events have been completed, Long 15 and Dry Wells. It's a pain but I'll rebuild aspects of my character differently and do some of the DLC in the Lonesome road.

Well I've got 65% of the trophies now but I've completely lost interest in it again and its the same reason as before: Dead Money DLC. It's just so fucking mundane it beggars belief. I like a challenge but its so unrewarding. It's easily the worst of the DLC - of which Old World Blues is the only one that is actually worth playing - I though Mothership Zeta was bad on FO3.

If I can get through it to get all the trophies I will but so far I've just lost all will to live with it.

In terms of character development, I'm around Level 42 now

:troll: :)facepalm:)

No, not that Level 42.

By the time I hit Level 50 I will have all but two stats at 100 ... which seemed to negate Obsidians desire to stop you from doing what you could do on FO3. The Old World Blues perks and Armour add ons from The Lonesome Road have made my character tougher than a coffin nail ... except in the Sierra Madre. I have to find a way to haul my carcass through this aberration. I might just switch to 'very easy' just to finish it.

I have enjoyed quite alot of what is in FNV but I have to admit despite putting over a 100 hours into just this play through it really doesn't have the same charm as FO3. The guns and armour are so much better on FNV but on the other hand missions are worse.

Hopefully Fallout 4 will deliver big things.
