:shocking:
Dude, you have said over and over again that you do not play Fifa.
Its fine to not like the game ..its your own prerogative..but
don't just come here and make some bulllshit scenario trying to make the game look bad. I have been playing Fifa since 09 and none of that sheeit that you just made has ever happened to me ..or anyone I know.
Biach Please :realmad:
Well I have played FIFA since 2000, and I do agree with Shaun, and furthermore, I know a lot of people who will agree with Shaun, so I think, if anyone is writing bullshit, it's you.
Ockrass you've always have a tendency for being extremely negative towards PES whilst at the same time being extremely positive towards FIFA, and when you do that (which is 99.9% of the time that you bother to use there forums), you clearly undermine the fact that both PES and FIFA work around the same dated D-PAD mechanics.
FIFA12 (and FIFA13 no doubt): ball carrier is running towards the north, then you suddenly direct the left analog stick towards the south *without* the assistance of any other button; reaction?
The ball carrier will automatically change the direction of his movements, will also automatically touch the ball towards the newly given direction, and will now be looking towards the south....
PES12 (and PES13 no doubt): ball carrier is running towards the north, then you suddenly direct the left analog stick towards the south *without* the assistance of any other button; reaction?
The ball carrier will automatically change the direction of his movements, will also automatically touch the ball towards the newly given direction, and will now be looking towards the south....
By merely directing the left analog stick *without* the assistance of any other button, you are simultaneously determining about six different factors.....
1st -- direction of dribbling: player touches the ball towards the given direction.
2nd -- direction of running: player starts running towards the given direction.
3rd -- direction of passing: player passes the ball towards the given direction.
4th -- direction of shooting: player passes the ball towards the given direction.
5th -- direction of eyesight: player is looking towards the given direction.
6th -- movement through space: player automatically moves towards the given direction.
I know this is not rocket science and I'm not pretending it is anything complicated, so I'm just going to assume that you do understand just how great of a limitation it is, when a system cannot even distinguish such fundamental things.
For as much as FIFA looks like a simulation on the outside, it still does not changes the fact that merely directing the left analog stick *without* the assistance of any other button will simultaneously determine about six different factors: PS1 era D-PAD mechanics.
An advanced system, would be one where by directing the left analog stick + tapping the L1 shoulder button, you get to determine the target of the pass, once you do this, the computer knows what you intend to do, and therefore the computer can alter the animations in accordance to your command: positioning your body in order to send a long ball, is not the same thing as positioning your body in order to shot at goal.
With both PES13 and FIFA13, you will get a system, where merely directing the left analog sick *without* the assistance of any other button, will simultaneously determine both the direction of the pass and the direction of the shot, and because the computer does not know what you intend to do, the computer cannot alter the animations, which is why it is necessary to have unrealistic arcade-like animations for both passing and shooting: as is the case with PES13, where the shooting animation is simply too quick to properly determine the power behind a shot.
This is why PES and FIFA have a lot of gimmicks: L2 button + left analog stick in order to perform "manual" passes (hey, how about not having to press the R2 button in order to send a manual pass?), L1 button + right analog stick in order to perform a couple of dribbling tricks, R2 button + left analog stick in order to perform simple dribbling, etc, etc. These gimmicks do little to improve the replay-value of the game, and at the end of the day, do not actually fix the fundamental flaws of the dated D-PAD system.
Bottom line: PES and FIFA are far too similar to objectively say that one is clearly better than the other, you have a right to your opinion of course, but you do look quite foolish when you try to refute blatant facts. What Shaun said has been the case since forever as far as FIFA is concerned, this can be proven via actual footage, if you still want to argue that you have never seen it happen.
