If I'm honest, I prefer demo 1 too.

But I'm not into too much realism, I just want to hammer my mates and score some great goals.

In Demo 1, I experienced two goals in particular that were out of this world. It was almost like playing on the old PS2 versions.
With Demo 2 I can't even come close to such brilliance. And I've played more games.

But, I am still very much looking forward to the game - released on 21st Sept.

no surprise you prefer demo1 then. personally, within 2 weeks of demo1 being out i was already bored of scoring screamers. which shouldnt be the case at all - those type of those goals should be wayyyyy less frequent imo... like demo2... far more contextual on body positiong and makes you work to get space and/or time before getting off any worthwhile shot, i.e. its more realistic and rewarding (for me)

I think the speed of demo 1 is right and everything I prefer demo 2. Not really sure why they kicked up the speed/pace of the game.

Ha. Reviews MATTER little. Wait, what am I saying. Reviews don't matter at all. And no, not because Fifa got 91, but because there are other games out there that deserved a 9.0 instead of the piles of sh!* that were released last year (football games especially) and then the first thing you notice on the reviews are COD MW3 (the worst COD in history), Fifa 12 (biggest disappointment after Pes 08), etc... And then games like Dark Souls (even though it got honourable mentions and scores), it deserved front page much more and also better reviews and scores.

Reviews are just opinions and the fact you disagree with most or a lot is natural.

I do agree though, reviews today are worthless for the most part and everybody always gets hung up on score rather than what is said.

I have seen reviews give nothing but praise only to give a low score and others give more negatives and yet still score highly.

But even so............Reviews do offer early glimpses in to new additions and features that are of note.

^The thing with reviews is not that I disagree or agree, but it's the fact that reviews are usually either paid or they're biased because of the game's popularity in fear that their review might get shunned by the ignorant masses and they also usually overlook the game's true qualities.

But yeah, they're a nice insight on the new features.

I've played the demo quite a bit now and although its very good, although the xbox could of gotten 10 min games to get a proper feel for it, I have two issues with it.

One is the powerbar for 0 bars pass assistance. Its a manual powerbar on this setting, but its badly done. While you can get the range of passes you need from the weak to the powerful, the powerbar is dreadfully unbalanced. There is a real lack of a range of passes you can achieve up to the midpoint of the powerbar which makes the latter part of the powerbar suffer because it has to fit in a bigger range in order to achieve the full range of powered passes to compensate for the lack of range up to the midpoint. You have to input nearly over half of the powerbar in order to get a decent powered pass which doesn't feel natural. It should take less of the power bar to do it and every pass that can be achieved powerwise up to that midpoint each sequentially are not very much different from each other in power. So much so some of them are pointless because they have no real effective difference and should be removed from the range, thereby making it quicker, more natural and less powerbar input to pull off a decently powered pass and a more of a real noticable effective power difference between your passes. The powerbar is not sensitive enough up to the middle of it.
After the midpoint, the upper ranges are far too sensitive due to the lack of range up to the midpoint because theres very little powerbar left to achieve the bigger range of effective powered passes thats left. So you go from very little effective difference and sensitivity between passes up to the midpoint and then suddenly after the midpoint even the slightest little extra bit of power makes a huge difference to how much power you get in your passes. Really unbalanced powerbar and badly done, hopefully they fix this.

Secondly, having to press the 'A' button twice is silly for making a tackle. The opportunity to win the ball is the split second you see the opportunity so I should be able to pull off the tackle straight away and that can only be achieved with one press of a button. The 'X' button should be used for this and secondary pressure moved to 'RT' or something like that. You can mistime a tackle easy enough at the moment because of the extra split second it takes to press the button twice, even though you can do it very quickly, a split second is all that a human or the AI needs to move out of your way just enough for you to miss the ball, cause a foul or both. For a truly effective tackle, I should be able to pull it off at the exact moment I need to. Please fix this!

Other than that I haven't enjoyed a PES as much as this in years and i'm pretty much content with everything else in it.

About your second issue, while holding A and you have the proper moment to tackle, press RB/R1 (the sprint button). I mean both at the same time when you want to tackle.

CS6 Has Video Editing? I have it... How the hell did I not know lol.

edit: subbed also :p

Yeah it has it but is pretty basic but also very easy to use..... Which for somebody like me Who likes the idea of doing montages and such now again but don't really want to buy and learn expensive and more complicated software.

I think that video game reviews are particularly shit. I mean, if you compare it with music critics and film critics, video game critics are simply too sold out to be taken seriously.

Questions like: "hey why has COD not actually improved in the last four years?

You'll never hear that from any of the well positioned video game critics, it's just a waste of time in my opinion. Film critics, music critics, are worth while because often they are allowed enough freedom to speak for themselves, but video game critics, well it's blatantly obvious that they are not allowed to voice their true thoughts, which as a consequence makes their whole "journalism" pointless.

The situation with footy sims is extremely disappointing (in my opinion), on one hand I think that PES13 is not an improvement on PES11, and on the other hand, the FIFA team has invested a lot of their time on insignificant features because they have nothing left to do with the core game. How I would love to see a third party taking over the genre, but it's too late as far as this gen of consoles is concerned.

All I'm seeing here is a lot of bitching and moaning. Everyone will have their own opinions irrespective of reviews. The reviews said that PES 2010 was great but 'just behind' FIFA. Personally the game was so poor in (and here's the key bit) my opinion, that FIFA's average 2010 offering looked all the more appealing.

If you can't find a reviewer you agree with, then pay your cash and take your chance. Just don't write off game journalism so glibly.

I agree, that's what criticism is at the end of the day, but listening to the opinion of an experienced and informed person is always a worth while read, whereas listening to the opinion of someone who obviously cannot voice his true feelings (due to obvious reasons) is just a complete waste of time.

There are a few good game critics out there, but so far, I cannot remember a single one that works for a renowned video game magazine.
