Some tips on commands

We use LB+RS to select a player for a run and I've read an in game instruction saying we should use the LB again to deselect. Is it right? I ask it, because it doesn't seem to work with me. The player goes on selected and this prevents me from selecting another player.

How can we force a tackle when the ball is loose. Sometimes I receive too strong a pass, which I know I won't reach before my opponent and when I try a sliding tackle, it just doesn't work. How can we force a slide tackle when the ball is loose?

Ok, just tell me if you are able to cancel the player run after using LB+RS. Is LB the right command to cancel it?

I'm migrating from Fifa and I used to command players up the field a lot. In PES, after selecting a player, I'm stuck with him. If selection was wrong, I can't do nothing about it. I know it isn't supposed to be that way, since the in game instructions says LB should cancel the command. But, for me at least, it doesn't seem to be working.

Do not trust everything you read on PES-in-GAMES command list. Some mechanics are weird , or not described accurately. In your case, yes the command should be canceled but it works half-broken. The best workaround i can tell you, is re-press LB+RS to cancel out or choose an other player off the ball. Fight the fire with fire! I understand you migraed ffrom FIFA and you are fresh to this, but this is PES the last 20 years. The instructions in game or official manuals, are not always accurate.

Thank you, for the answer, but I have tried it all. I have tried to select another player with LB+RS, but it doesn't accept, so that I'm committed to the first selected player until he stops his run. That means that if I select the wrong player, the only alternative I have to make another player run is pressing LS+RT, which causes all players to sprint. Not a great alternative.

No. But then won't I need to use the right stick to run with the second player? I'm still not that proficient.

Anyway, I'll try it to see if the cancel button works, at least.

Guys, I’m so close to saying the hell with this game! I mean i get it, the players move around more realistically than in Fifa, but at least that money-grabbing non-innovative disgrace IS A FINISHED product!!!! EA never have to patch something as serious as..”oh...we cant defend anybody” like Konami. I am in ML with Juventus on Top Player difficulty and I concede 3-4 goals frequently to far inferior teams because the ball in glued to their players feet. All the AI needs is 3 shots on goal from the middle of the box and bang, goal after goal. I can’t switch my defenders in time to keep up, I can’t catch up despite having much faster players, and I can’t stop the AI from bringing the ball up to my box whenever they want!

This is beyond ridiculous! Games are supposed to be fun not frustrating!

Have you set the "teamate control" option to manual?

I have tried the manual control, but cancel still don't work. I use the alternate control settings, which is similar to Fifa (I'm a converted player), but the LB command is the same in both the default setting and the alternate setting.

Are you guys being able to cancel the LB+RS command? Is is just me? If that is the case, I will try to mess with my control settings. I just want to know if it is working ok with others or if that is a bug.
