I honestly don't feel it's the keepers. They're represented quite realistically. I'd have to say it's too easy to skip past the last line of defence and get a clear shot on goal. That's the real problem.

Play WE10 and you'll appreciate the full extent of improvement involved. My guess is that Konami purposely made the WE10 keepers absolutely diabolical beyond belief just so people will see the benefit of having decent keepers in PES6.

People have got to understand that it's quite rare for keepers to catch the ball in reality now, opting to punch or push the ball away instead.

I agree with you. The keepers in WE10 were terrible. They are much better in PES6 so just be glad you didn't get WE10 keepers.

any one that has played we10 will appreciate how much better the keepers are on pes 6. But they still make mistakes playing a match Liverpool vs man u against my brother earlier today all evens coming to 80 mins. when Rooney left my defence and let rip about 25yds out and to my horror Reina dived to catch the ball in mid flight only to let it slip through his hands into the back of the net a smile came over my brothers face and I had to contain my self I lost 1-0.

I've went back to playing PES5, I cant play this game knowing some of the goals I'm scoring or conceding is because of keeper error, I scored a 35 yard rocket shot, and usually in the past ive jumped up because it felt like it was a one off. This PES i feel if i get some space and shoot ill score....like FIFA....ruined

You think Ronaldo cared that Kahn didn't catch the second goal in WC-final 2002? That he would say, well let's not count that goal cause it didn't go in because of my skills, but because of a goalie error.

You should check the goals Feyenoord conceded in the season 2004/2005. They had a goalkeeper (Babos) who looked liked a volleyballplayer more than at a football goaly. Every long range shot fell right in front of the feet of the oponnents striker to tap it in after Babos couldnt catch it.

No, but this is horrendous, in the last game you can rely on keepers to be challenging, just about 10 minutes ago I hit a 40 yard rocket (with no effort just tap shoot) and it hit the bar the keeper stood there it came down hit of his head and went in. There is no challenge in PES anymore because the keepers are terrible, they save the hard shots and seem to ignore everything else. Open your eyes to just how bad they are

The keepers in WE10 literally did spoil the game, which was unfortunate. Yet to get my hands on PES6, although I'm liking the sound of improvement for the keepers. It's fairly realistic however for the keepers to fumble the simplest of balls at times, lack of concentration more than anything so I guess Konami have done well. Wouldn't be 'that' good if all the keepers were unbeatable.

Since I'm already posting, just like to ask as I don't think I'll be getting the game within the next few weeks: Is there a way the keepers can drop-kick the ball ? (I've heard a double tap of Square does the trick, not sure about the truth behind this though).

Some keepers will drop kick the ball automatically with one tap of square whereas some will blast it upfield with a volley. The only way to manufacture a drop kick in PES5 was to edit player and change drop kick style.

Keeper errors happen every week, it doesn't ruin football, it's part of football and something we've got accustomed to. Not all keepers are Yashin, Shilton, Schmeichel or Buffon. If you're worried about getting too much space, more often than not it's because your teammates and yourself create the space with movement, which is great. Sometimes the defence will lack closing down ability but this happens a lot in reality though, far from ruining a game.

You shouldn't rely on keepers as you should sort everything out with your defence. However a lot of keepers are skilled enough to win 1-on-1 situations unless the player involved jinks past him, then there maybe a problem. I scored a goal exactly like yours too, but on PES5 and also WE10. Shit happens, i.e. Roy Carroll against Spurs and Pedro Mendes a couple of seasons ago. The keeper messed up because quite frankly, not many keepers will catch nowadays as they oppose this by punching or pushing the ball back out. You, as the defender should be sharp enough to be in a goalside position of the striker when the ball often bounces out. I think, it's you who needs to open your eyes to the keepers being more realistic now.

I agree with most of you, the keepers seem worse but they are probably just being more realistic... They were probably a bit too good before.

It is just a matter of getting used to them. And they also make astounding saves, they try to save a ball going an inch wide rather then magically knowing it wont go it. The first one hander I saw, I was WOAH!

yeah keepers are definetly much more realistic.

I also like the way keepers can catch the ball and then carry the ball over the line, for a corner. Also they will drop the ball if they think they are going to carry the ball outside the area.

ALSO! when you hold TRIANGLE and the keeper rushes out of his box to intercept a player he will actually go for a slide tack rather then stand there like they used to in PES5!
