Nope, fraid the guys here are right. The ball has to be completely over the line, part of it is still on the line (doesn't make any difference if it's making the net move or not, the game has some dodgy physics, that's all).

Very very nice. I've never been able to score from a free kick that far out, let alone two!

I'll admit that was only on 3* difficulty, I can play and beat any computer opponent all the way to 6*, but I can't score from halfway on it!

I used to play with "type 2" controls, but more often than not found I was doing the alternate move instead of the one I wanted to do (lobbing a shot is a prime example). Moved back to Type 1 and everythings a lot easier to pull off. Made a nice lob yesterday to win the World Cup against Brazil...

I think I've only scored a free kick by accident, but then the computer seems to hate me, and gives plenty of fouls against me, but very rarely in my favour :( Can score free kicks for fun on the training ground tho!

For me, FIFA has always been too easy. I use to regularly have FIFA nights round at a mates house with a few lads and plenty of beer, and that was the only time I'd enjoy playing it. Against the computer, it was just too simple to put the ball away, from anywhere in their half. Would have meant...
