If you're getting the "input/output error" as the .cdr image is being created, that means your disk is scratched, dirty or damaged. It's happened to me before. Try cleaning it. If it happens again, you'll need to get your hands on another disk, unfortunately.

Correct. I only meant no need to wait and patch PES5 in November/Dec, when one can patch WE9 in August/Sept. (with WE9 patch of course). Further, in Nov./Dec. many of us likely will be checkin out Xbox2 and wishing we could play the series on next gen consoles.

You'll likely be able to patch PES5 a month or two in advance of the game's release (by patching WE9 after its release in August) ;)

What brand media did you use? Give Verbatim a try. If that doesn't do it, it's likely a console issue.
