Hmm, I'm thinking FM might not be 'intelligent' enough to realise that it is only two formations, instead only realising that I am changing tactics for each game, and therefore my performances will suffer. Perhaps I wont use the 'away' formation in every away game, only against tough opposition...

I think by 'dodgy' you mean 'realistic'. In that case, you would be correct I'd describe the goalkeeping in PES5 as 'dodgy' - making saves using invisible extended arms when they got nowhere near the ball, being blocked from going over the goal-line by magical barries, and drawing footballs...
