You can play online but I am not sure if its going to be laggy...because itll most likley be on the European serves and since you are in NA it might lag. You will get all the patches and downloads same as the Europeans.

if you make a EURO account on ur PS3 then youll be in EURO servers and u will get updates just like the Europeans. Im doing it too
