How do you do the controlled shot (R2/RT) I've been working on it in training and can't get it. Isn't it like a long lob over the keeper? Is there a certain spot on the field you have to do it, or does the keeper have to be a certain distance from net?

you can always sell most of your default players and buy someone like Etoo, I saw a lot of people do that when the game first came out. Turns out it was probably a horrible idea as I dont see teams like that anymore. I see more balanced teams now.
