on my game, ML teams don't buy retired players from classic teams but they do buy the retired players I bought from the PESshop. For example, Atletico Madrid bought Dunga. That's when the retired players transfer option is set to "No".

They are just empty slots which you can't do anything with. On we7 they were for the all star teams but on pes3 the all star teams are not unlockable.

This game is a big improvement over WE7 and PES3 but there are a few things that I find annoying: 1) The offensive headers - It seems to be even easier to score from headers now. They are much more powerful. 2) through balls, long passes and crosses seem too easy to complete successfuly...
