0-0 draws a speciality

Playing on 5 and 6 stars, I always seem to end up with 0-0 draws or occationally 1-0 to either side. I have always had this problem. Even against human opponents my defence seems to be legendary - I have mastered this, but no matter how many flowing moves I create (and shots on goal I recorded 19 in a recent no score draw) I cant seem to capitalize. Other problem is that I play 2 excellent human opponents all the time who have no problems at this level and beat them 9/10 times. Help me!

It's better that you can beat the humans rather than the CPU. Well, I think it's better this way than the other way. Most people figure out how to play the CPU and rack up high scores, but they lack the imagination to play other people.

I've stopped playing the CPU as it changes the way I play. I stick to playing other people, usually online.

If you want help to beat the CPU we'll need a bit more info:
What kind of teams do you play as? What kind of formations have you tried?

That used to happen to me alot, i think its a case of trying to hard and being very neat with your play, i kept trying to play a 'clean' game which caused me to always play slow defensive football, i have improved a bit, but my tip would be just to relax when you play and just go for it. :)

Just keep on trying mate, try to play with 3 forwards. When I started playing at *6 i had the same thing. Winning by 1 goal or drawn. Know i sometimes win by 6-0.

Its better when you get a draw because you get a sense of wellbeing. Having played real madrid in the WEFA Championship i went down 4 nil in the first half without gettin any shots to there goal, well,in the secong leg at the parc de princes(im psg)i fired two attacking mids also up front behind the strikers. Go 2 nil up within the first 20 mins which is good, then grab a goal in 43 mins to make it 4-3 to them on agg.Cum out for the second half and score a beautifly taken goal by podolski, got in front of samuel and rattled a header by casillas,THEN in 75 mins when i thought it was over sneijder hit a peach from a counter attack from which owen hit the post. Podolski cuts round carlos leavin him for dead, passes to sneijder who dummys the shot, muntari picks it up on the right wing, berthods makin a looping run by him, whips in a double cirlce shot, PODOLSKI MEETS IT AT THE FRONT AND CASILLAS CAN ONLY WATCH AS THE BALL FLYS BY HIS EXTENDED LEG,I can only write it in here but although it seems stupid,Tuesday night will always be in the memory of myself ,oh and here is my starting line-up:

Lewis GK

Chique Arce RB
Berthod LB
Heitenga CB
Kompany CB

Essien CM
Fabregas CM
S

Sneijder OM?CF
Baumjohann OM/LW
Fernando Torres CF
Podolski CF LEGEND

Post one striker in the center of the box, the other two on the same height and at the side line. The computer will leave them unmarked a couple times during a match and then you'll have the oppurtunity to score a goal.

I like playin with 3 up front but the wide attackers are positioned right near the corner flags and I play with a couple of wide midfielders too so they can dribble down the wing and draw the defender off the wide forward. Then its just a case of passing past the defender as he comes to meet you and the attacker has then a couple of seconds to get in a good cross. I find the double tapped cross to be the most effective as its faster and relies less on the CF putting power on the header.

What I want to do is tell my CMF or OMF to hold back untill the cross is on its way and then make a forward run so he reaches the edge of the area as any clearances or keeper punches reach it so he has a chance of a running volley.....or is it a bit silly to expect a piece of software to react to typed instructions?

i know what you mean i gone through a league unbeaten against the CPU but in a league with Human players as my opponents i was beaten 2-0 by Numancia

as for beating the CPU i've yet to try 6 starts yet but if i were i'd go for a 4-2-3-1 -with 4 at the back 2 anchor men(although i give instructions for one to push forward 2 wingers and a man behind the lone striker

I had exactly the same problem when i was getting started at 5 and 6 stars difficulties. It took like one master league season, scored 2 times in the first half of the season. But then I got better and started winning the games. Just play on and on and try to tolerate those 0-0 games, you'll learn.

This was my first trick to beat up 6 star CPU: Play with 2 strikers, the other one with speed more than 90, good balance and fast passing. Then try run side by side with opponent defender as far as you can, when (or if) you reach the penalty area, make quick 180-turn around and the other striker should be in good position, pass to him - shoot - and it's a certain goal.
