I've just recieved my brand new copy of PES5 for the PC and i can't get it to install properly. It works fine up to a point where an error message appears that reads:

'Error 1305. Error reading from file E:program files\Konami\PES5\dat\0_sound.afs. - verify that the file exists and that you can access it'

I don't have a clue what that means but the file in question is definately there.

Any ideas you folks may have as how to help me would be greatly appreciated

OK... First of all. Go to Program Files - delete EVERYTHING from the KONAMI folder (or easier still just delete the folder itself).

Then try a totally FRESH install using your original PES5 disc. When you are installing, make sure you specify the location for the install. I notice your hard drive is E: - the default is C: and the game may be trying to install to C:

nope - :E is the DVD drive that the game disk is in - the 0_sound.afs file is not on the disk according to the computer, but i looked at the disk contents and it is.

program files/konami/PES5/dat

copy the contets manually from the 'dat' folder into the Konami folder and the try to install and when it asks for the files, browse and select the pasted ones
