1 on 1 Scoring

Ok I know I'm still on the demo and many of you lucky lucky people have the full game by now, for some daft reason England is way behind the rest of europe. Blame the Euro, it's the fault for most things where England has to buy things later than everybody else.

Anyway, although I can score enough goals in the demo on TP to beat my opponent at least 75% of the time, my 1 on 1 shooting is god awful. In RL with a good forward with the ball this is a goal most of the time, for me, we are talking about 5% and even them are usually coz the keeper parrys the 1st shot back at me. Am i missing a trick here?

My opponent can hit shots into the corner or nutmeg the keeper while running at pace while under pressure, where my shots are usually saved. I do get them on target but the finishing is more often than not a bad shot.

I'm not saying I have the shooting down wrong as like I have said I can score goals, but 1 on 1s with just the keeper to beat and I'm probably getting a corner :(

Usually I'd tell you to do a finesse shot but konami managed to f@#$ that up too. But getting really close and doing the low chip (X -> RB) still works 99% of the time.

Good luck!

I only really play BAL, so I only really use the Vertical Wide camera, but the way I score my 1 on 1 goals is usually wait out the goalkeeper and then slot it in the far end of where I am at the time.

The sensitivity of the shots and the stick, coupled in with player balance, plays a big role in this years game.

Penalties is even worse... Had to practice penalties in Training for 15 minutes straight before I felt I could even do it without either missing completely or just right in the middle.

Maybe it's the distance and angles you're shooting at. Too close to the keeper gives you less room to shoot at. Too far means higher chance to miss the target. With practice you'll eventually find the right distance to bury those chances. Also angles play a role too. Generally, right footed players are better shooting from the top of the screen and left footed from the bottom. Hope that helps.

Speaking purely from last years version as a general tip I always found waiting for the goalie to commit to move was always helpful. As soon as they attempt to close you down shooting seems to catch them off balance/guard and they don't react as quickly. Whether that helps in this years version I cant say though.

yep i have found it's better to wait for the keeper to make his move and slot it past him, scoring a lot more of them not thx for the tips ppl.
