hi my name is patrick, i am new to this forum and also hoping in the near future to buy a ps2 solely for pes3. i was just wondering what this 50/60 hz setting was all about. i looked at the back of my tv and it says 50 Hz, does that mean i wont be able to play pes3 on 60 hz? do i need to buy any extra leads? does the the ps2 come with the required leads?

50Hz is confirmed slower than 60Hz. 60Hz takes up the whole TV while 50Hz has a boarder at the top and bottom so 50Hz is very slightly squashed.

My TV says 50Hz but it still plays 60Hz but not well. Scan lines are visable, around the players wearing red there is a pink colour and the top right hand corner flickers at all time.

I personally play on 50Hz which IMO is better resolution the scan lines are harder to see and the top right hand corner does not flicker.

However i find 50Hz is a heck of alot harder than 60Hz seems you can't turn as fast and the computer seem harder to break down.

The difference between them is that 50hz runs 17.5% slower than 60hz, but it has a better resolution, so the picture is of a higher quality. I prefer 60hz myself though, as a speed drop is worse than a slightly degraded picture in my opinion.

I have noticed that the stugger bug is more pronounced with the 60hz setting on my tv.

I tested my tv in 60 hz and it works. however i dont know if game goes faster. I think in all modern 50hz tvs you can play in 60hz with no problem. mine is sony
