However...I'm curious regarding patching for the PES 2008 and stuff like that.

We all know it off course depands on what licenses and stuff the game will contain, and not least how good this editor will be. But let's say it's just good and not superb, and that patching will become more of a "must"...

How on earth will it happen ? How on earth will all PES geeks afford to get a Blue Ray burner and stuff ? Are there any other ways to make it ? Or might it be a option to be able to download certain "illegal" patches to improve the game ?

As said....Pretty early to be wandering around thinking about this, but it might be a thought. For me personally I would love to be able to at least have the option to choose available. All creds to WEmerica for that...haha!

Dude, no one has figured out how the hell to patch PES6 for the 360 yet, so don't expect anyone to be able to do it for PES 2008 on the PS3 anytime soon!

It's a good point. Patching on to Blue-ray will be the only way I imagine, its a matter of size really because all other media types are too small to hold the data anyway. We might have to upgrade our PCs, because I see that they make DVD/Blue-ray all-in-one burners now. The DVD-R I have now can't do Blue-ray so I will have to upgrade it.

Oh and I'm sure we'll have no problems patching (eventually). This is always said about new consoles but someone always manages to find a way, and patching is a popular thing these days.

It was only Winning Eleven which was patched to be in English rather than Japanese. Every version of PES on the PS2 was editable to a decent degree and thankfully people spent a lot of time and effort on the option files.

From what I can make out the 360 version on PES6 wasn't the real deal - PES 2008 will be (for both next gen).

Downloading saves will be much easier for PS3 so I'm not worried about licences at all.
