hey there..... am new to this forum but am an old winning eleven fan been playin it from ages ...but still waiting for the day when they will release a wining eleven verison with all the national teams from all over world like the RTWC in fifa 98 , that would be simply awsome ..one of the features i adored in winnign eleven 9 is the Japan challenge to take it to the world cup 2006 ... i wish one day konami provide us with a version where u get to play with any national team of ur choosing to try to qualify with it to world cup andeven why not maybe win the world cup if u get lucky enough......i don't care if is was even a very weack team ( like Egypt or Burkina faso or Trindad and Tobaggo or Malta .......etccccc) i enjoy when i take a weack team and battle with it till i either win or fail.lol.. ... i just hope they do this one day that would be a dream come true since world cup 2006 is coming soon ...well who knows ? maybe just maybe??

Just like you, I have been waiting for such edition. With its superb gameplay, it is really mind boggling why Konami has yet to capitalise on this. However it is important that the player names are real. In the Nippon Challenge, seriously I did not really enjoy it cos most of the names are fictitious and it is impossible to change it. Playing against a team of unknowns IMO just is not my cup of tea. It is very unfortunate that PES5 PC version does not have the Nippon Challenge otherwise that can be patched.

Fact is, four realtively weak teams(angola, togo, ivory coast and Ghana) have made it to world cup 2006, and Konami usually put in the world cup qualifiers; so here's hoping that in PES6, we'll at least have four new teams, and not at the expense of the likes of Nigeria or Cameroon who failed to qualify.

PES 5 shows that Konami like to take away before they give, but with the bigger storage of blu-ray, hopefully they see fit to make more teams available.

I think the ammount of teams in PES5 plus the rest of the european teams, plus the world cup 2006 qualifiers that weren't in PES 5, and I'd be happy.

I seriously doubt that disk space limitations are the reason for a lack of teams. From what I have heard, the PES5 disk image size is only 2.1GB which is about half the capacity of a DVD game. There is plenty of space for them to add new teams. They should not be removing teams to be able to add new ones and if they do anything but add to the existing teams (in PES6) then that will be very bad.

exactly and i've said this a million times now, how can it possibly have anything to do with disc space when fifa 06 contains 26 leagues and over 10,000 players???? pes4 only featured 80 or so club teams and 57 national teams. they could fit another few hundred teams into the game if they wanted

Here's a thought

One of my inlaws.. (Brother).
He reckons Konami are selling us short on Teams to keep us interested.. because the way he says If konami give us everything all at once they'll run out of idea's and only end up tweaking the game.

In a way he's sort of right, Look at FIFA.. wow its got all those teams.. it's not a shit game.. but it's still distinctly out of league with PES.
But would PES be a miles better game with another 30-40 teams included?
What makes the PES game good?.. It's not the teams is it?

Every time konami bring out a new PES they always add new teams. Because they replace the relegated teams with the promoted ones.. and in the last one (PES4) they deleted Fenerbahce?.. Don't get me wrong .. I'm a united fan and couldn't care less about them but if it wasn't disk space why delete them when they already had all the player details and stuff from PES3?

It is another inconsistency Konami have to sort out.. like the doubling of players on some international teams etc..
I got to admit i partly agree with my bro in law simply because there isnt any other propper rational explanation as to why they would do it.

but surely in that case you just add a few more teams every year, you dont take them out. yes i accept your point that its the gameplay and not the teams that make pro great, but adding more teams would make it even better

I agree with you they shouldn't take teams out and there isn't a reason for them to do it? :eek:hmy: .. not that i'm aware of anyways.
