'GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL' - Obviiously when a goal is scored.

'That challenge was as hard as a brick wall' - After a crunching challenge

'How did he miss that? It was easier than shoplifting from a family run newsagent' - After missing an EASY chance.

'This guy thinks he's the most skillful guy in the world and I wouldn't argue with him' - about Zinedine Zidane

'Even if he had of taking that free ninety nice more times, he still would have missed' - When a terrible set piece taker takes a free kick and doesn't score

'He sprinted past that player so fast him, the defender didn't have any time to reacr' - Thierry Henry, Dennis Rommedahl getting past a defender.

'That was so far away... Further than the distance between sanity and going crazy' - When a player takes a shot and it goes miles wide.

How about having a Motty extra when you play World Cup? All of the commentary relates to having breakfast while you play the game and food!

What they need to do is look at a CM commentary file.

That would sort them out. Then they'd trim it down in some way, to make it more dynamic. And voila.

Who does the commentary on CM then? I had it on my old PC but it took so long to start up (as my PC was ancient) I didn't really bother playing it.

Please!
I would rather they stay silent than take the time to make all the commentary for fake names.

I can accept the messed Brazilian names as some of them are cool but for clubs, they should cheer on the team colours or something:-

"The reds score!"
"The blues are relegated!!"

They must be able to do "Utd" and "City". And the "home team" and "the visitors"... stuff that is a bit more bearable!

The CM commentary was only vocally spoken on one version of the game, 95/96 I believe. It was shit. But what was being said, was good.

In CM, the commentary database is overwhelmingly big, it's represented via text, you see. I can send you the file if you want.

Basically, for each "event" in the game, there are various commentaries. An example:

If the player holds up the ball, the game is programmed to show one of the following texts, with equal likelihood of either:

<p1> holds up the ball
<p1> is forced to hold onto the ball
<p1> keeps hold of the ball
<p1> looks to slow the tempo|He retains the ball at his feet
<p1> delays playing the ball
<p1> puts his foot on the ball
<p1> pauses and waits for support
<p1> keeps the ball at his feet

Basically, there is a bar across the screen, solid in colour, with the text flashing across it as things happen. <p1> being the player's name, and the | (4th line of commentary) being a divider (i.e. the two texts are shown one after another).

e.g. "Zenden looks to slow the tempo"

"He retains the ball at his feet"

There's literally hundreds of different texts, but basically if you use this as a base and make it more dynamic (as this is commentary aimed to give you more detail than is necessary when you can see the game being played) you have a very good commentary set-up. I can't attach the file as it's a .dat, which isn't permitted.

did anyone play the game "world cup 98". in that game motty kept on about going home for a cornish pasty and how he likes French Wine. Thats what pes3 needs, more talking about food and less talking about yorkshire and highlands.

Except we could have done with him last night in the 1st half?

And r u talking about FIFA RTWC:98? I thought a yorkshire was a food! ;)

By the way, cheers nifty for that... wonder how that could be implemented for PES3?

All they need to do is have a look at it, and feel inspired. It's a case of re-ordering and playing about with it, to make it more dynamic.

e.g.

Champ Manager Version

"Zenden has the ball on the wing.
He turns, and looks to run at his defender.
He easily beats Carragher, leaving him for dead.
He continues to advance down the touchline.
He looks up and crosses..."

Pro Evo Version

"Zenden...
...he's beaten his man...
...he gets a cross in..."

It's the same thing, but it doesn't need to be as literate, as you can see the action. Also, it sounds more dynamic, which is basically the key to keeping up with the game. That's all there is to it. I mean, I could bloody do it myself (I always wanted to be a commentator).

"Now let's have another look at this incident"
"And what happened here"

Repeat these two lines a million times during the summary at the end of 1st half or the end of the match...

I like Nifty's idea, to the point and easy to put into a game.

and a GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
would be nice. :p

if you turn the commentary language to spanish, the commentator does say GOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLLLL occasionally.
