A few Questions...

Hey guys. Bought PES this year for the first time in about 5 years. I took a long hiatus from football games in general as I just was kot enjoying them any more. I don't think the jumps from generation to generation have been anything like what I would have expected and it disappointed me. Any way, I'm back now on PES 16 and have a few questions.

Master League
So my keeper was utterly dreadful to begin with, every single effort on target was going in goal. I bought a decent goalie and the same situation happened. It nearly killed ML for me, it was a joke and it felt so cheap. But now the same keeper is pulling off some great saves and it is much more consistent and less infuriating. Does Team Spirit have that much influence on how bad you keeper is?

I'm really annoyed that you can't seem to track players stats progression in this game. That was one of my favourite aspects of ML seeing how much experience they got from matches and what attributes went up. You get no such thing now unless the player is on a "hot streak" but that's not how it should be! You also have to go into squad list to see how each attribute is progressing but then go into a separate training menu which doesn't tell you the progression!? Stupid! Unless I'm missing something...Please tell me I am? I know there is the "current level 77, expected level 81" thing but I want more depth...anyone with me?

I've also just got to the January transfer window of my second year and my Youth team has just recruited an unbelievable plethora of regenerated retired players, Demicheles, Klose, Arshavin, Simone Pepe just to name a few. I have around 10 that will become unreal. That has killed ML for me to be honest. I would have liked 1 or 2 but literally a whole team, rediculous!! I'd been building a young up coming team spending money wisely but I may as well kot have bothered as all these players are going to be better than the ones I've bought, and they're 16!!

Anyway, sorry for the wall of text but does someone share my frustrations and issues here? Many thanks for reading.

Agree with all of this especially the stats and stuff same as yourself i used to love looking back at the goal stats from previous seasons and how hard can it be to include that in the game? Welcome back to PES just enjoy the game play and try to ignore all the silly mistakes Konami have made in the ML it's working for me even when the likes of Genoa or Bologna are bidding 32 million for my players at Inter Milan :w00t

Congratulations on realising what was going on. Yes, team spirit has THAT much of an impact. It should have the effect that it takes about a season to get going, but when you do get going it takes some stopping...

It would be hard to find people who play ML and are not with you on this. Ever since the game shifted to a new engine, it has been even worse. Consider this year's ML packed with features when compared to last couple of iterations. Quite a few people here on the fora are as peeved as you are with the stats issue and the issue of placement of bars in a menu totally separate from training. It seems the wanker who made that design choice never thought about more than one season of the ML.

I suppose the number of retirees is rather large at the end of the first season. It may come down to 4-5 a season in the YT after that. Just keep the ones who really suit your style and sell the others to weaker teams. That way you have more competition and game remains varied for a longer period of time and you can always buy back the ones who become really good later in the game.

Sadly as it stands, master league has become a game of about 5-6 seasons as opposed to a mode that could go on forever, such is repeating nature of events/your team becoming too powerful and other team not keeeping pace...

Thanks for your responses. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with these frustrations. After having such a long break I was worried that some of this stuff had become par for the course and it may have been posted before, I just didn't fancy trawling the forum!

I've basically loaned out all the youth players I recruited bar Klose, because it's Klose! I do look forward to making him World Class...

As a whole I am really enjoying Master League, I am addicted to it now as I was as an 18 year old during PS2 era PES, which is surprising really. it is a shame Konami seem to be abandoning ML in favour of other game modes, it is the best mode by far and always has been. It's just a few steps away from being sensational but they keep plugging the online stuff.

P.S. Ben Foster put in a World Class display against me last night, unbelievable scenes! To keep the game at 1-1 I absolutely peppered the goal just couldn't get past him.
