Acceleration Lag when turning

When a player receives a ball, when running on the first touch while changing direction, players take a slow, small first touch before the long, fast second touch, creating lag in acceleration. I understand players need to "trap" the ball or have a controlled first touch, but this is too much. This is killing it for me atm because when I've worked a good opening, the "acceleration lag" dissolves all my advantage and I'm back to playing possession football again. The lag in acceleration is like a turbo charged car, they move slowly at first then after the delay burst into action.

This is the biggest issue with the demo for me atm. Does anybody else see this?

I just posted this on the main page.

Okay I apologise profusely for the triple post but playing around with it some more and I just had a major breakthrough (for me anyway).

If you avoid what I refer to as "turbo lag", ie don't hold rb on your first touch while turning at a relatively large angle, it completely changes the game. If I turn first without rb, THEN press rb, it's actually a hell of a lot faster than the laggy rb turn. Like I said, this completely changes the game for me and made everything so much easier.

I still can't get that long first touch out on a turn, but without the lag it's a hell of a lot faster. I just only press rb or run when my player is already facing the right direction.

Sorry again for the triple post, but other people must be facing the same difficulty, and knowing this helped me a lot. It may be that konami "punish" players that try to accelerate on the first touch turn. If that's the case then I disagree in the principle and the lag looks and feels wrong, but avoiding it is a gamechanger.

Like I said, this completely changes the game for me. I would be really interested to know if this helps anyone else, or are people already aware of this and consider it a legitimate facet of the game?
