Am yet to make my online account on PES5 but will be doing so tonight,

Just wondering i take it you have like a username, so we should make a thread where everyone posts their usernames up so we can get some games going etc..

hang on a second... what exactly do i need to do to play online again?

right, exactly you need.....

a ps2
copy of pro evo 5
a network adaptor for you ps2
an internet connection (broadband recommended)

thats basically it, network adaptor goes into the back of the ps2, plug that into your modem, you get all the instructions with the network adaptor.

Anyone on now/later/soon/tonight?

I'm "WelshMike" online so do challenge me if you see me about, although I shouldn't host games because there's lag.

You sound as if you know as much about this as me ;)

I wish someone would speak English and tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I think I'm right in saying that you don't need a network adapter with the new slimline PS2s and I've plugged in my PS2 to the modem through an ethernet cable but I can't even get a connection. My mate reckons that when I bought the PS2 there was a CD to set up an internet account on your PS2 to play online games on but I don't remember this disk and ifI ever had it it's been thrown out, so he's gonna let me borrow his.

Can anyone confirm if what I've just said is correct please, I really wanna play online but as usual me being a tractor boy I'm not getting on well with all this technology

Edit: Okay, I got the cd from mate and tried to add a setting but as soon as it's tested it just keeps saying that the cable isn't connected, tried another ethernet cable that worked recently and that was the same, nothing seems to be going right :(

I wondered if it could be because of the swap magic thingys I put in to make patched pro evo 4 work, thats all that I can think of, unless the PS2 has something wrong with it. I'm gonna have to ring the playstation people up to find out :realmad:

Can't Log On!!

I've got the same problem as earthworm, my connection test goes fine, then just after it says i'm connected it justs keeps flashing "testing network environment" and plating that annoying B&Q music. i went out yesterday and left it like that, 3 hours later and it was still the same!!

It the settings section I set everything to auto, I dont need to enter user id or password to log on.

I've never had a problem playing fifa online, 05 or 06 so I can't understand it.

I've got a bt voyager 205 router and a 2mb connection.

HELP!!

Pro Evo on the PC was tricky to get online, I guess the PS2 will experience the difficulties of setting up - got to www.PES5.net there is guide which they should of included with the instructions. All you need is there - trust me.

Do you have the same problem? I can't get online today. It was fine yesterday, but today on the servers, there is message saying "Maintenance Of Servers" or something like that .. but it will be at the 24/10 from 09.00 BST - 10.00 BST ..

I also do get this message "An error occured due verification" ..

Firstly, i think pes5 is great. Not muuch change from pes4, but with ps2's engine, it was expected. Continuing, does anyone know how the online point system works? And what happens when someone quits on you when losing? This isn't a major problem btw as it has happened only once-still pretty annoying though (o ye online mode on ps2 is smooth as anything)

clarification:

You play with the default teams online
You can't take your master league team online
You can skip replays, but only if both players press a button
Lag is sometimes noticable, very annoying
You can't "choose not to host". It is set up so that you host one half, and your opponent hosts the other half...

Have fun!
