I don't know anything about online PS2 play so if you guys could give me some help it'd be appreciated.

Firstly, does your PS2 have to connect to your PC/modem?

Secondly, is THIS what I need to play online. Checking as I don't want to end up spending my money on something I don't need.

Thanks in advance.

Hi I have a new problem. I'm using a Netgear Rangemax Router (connected to a Linksys ADSL modem) to power my Netgear Wireless Games Adapter. Its passing all the diagnostics tests but when I try and play Pro it gets to 'Texting Network Environment' but fails to do so, with this message coming up:

"Unable to transmit using UDP port 5730.
You may need to connect directly to the internet or adjust your connection device ie. router settings, etc.
Assign DMZ, Port Mapping, Configures NAT Table and other routing settings to the console.
Individual products may use unique terminology."

I really thought I'd got it working until this point. Any suggestions?

Alright, I'm new to the online play and I'd appreciate some help.

I have PES 5 and a regular PS2 with a Pc with a Broadband connection next to it, do I just need a network adapter to get Online Play working?

Yes, you need the network adapter and the network disk that comes with it plus a crossover cable, mine goes from my ps2 to the pc and some use a router. I forget the exact name and type of the cable but the details should be around here and you need to make sure you get the right one as one that looks very similar won't work at all. Good luck.

Some say a good place for the adapter is

Hi all,

I currently own a slimline ps2 and have BT broadband which works at 2.2 mbps. My ps2 and cpu are on different floors, so I would like to know:

1) Can I attach a wireless broadband adaptor onto my computer, thus giving me wireless broadband in my house. Then connect up on my laptop, then join the laptop to the ps2?

2) Is 2.2 mbps good enough to play without lag and stuff?

3) Do I plug the wireless adaptor into my computer or directly into the wall phone socket, which is now pumping broadband into my computer.

4) If I plug it into my computer, will the fact that I am connected to the internet both on the laptop and cpu effect the speed of games through lag etc.

I hope this makes sense and please help. :innocent:
