Alternative Way of scoring thru a Freekick

After playing many games on PES5, I’ve just discovered a much easier way of scoring from a Freekick. It does not matter whether the freekick is direct or indirect. It works better if the freekick is around the fringe of the penalty box. During the freekick, players willl be darting around besides the wall, just aim directly at those players. The moment you see your player directly in front of your aim, press the button X and quickly the square button. Your player will unleash a shot immediately upon receiving the pass.. Lately I have tried the method 5 times and the success rate was encouraging. 3 shots landed at the back of the net with 2 balloned across the crossbar. Perhaps I need to press the down button to lower the shot. Give this a try.

Personally, I'm inclined to agree with the thread author. I've been passing in from close freekicks since PES 3. It worked well enough then, but it is much more effective again in PES 5. Having said that, shooting from freekicks also seems easier in PES 5 (although I haven't got the knack of it quite yet, sadly).

In any case, passing in is a smart move.

Press up and circle, this will smack the ball in at pace. If you use square, the CPU will think that you are shooting and the players will leave the ball

Perhaps I need to press the down button to lower the shot. Give this a try.

Pressing Down doesn't make shots stay down, it's down to the power you put in as well as the players positioning and which foot he uses etc. Also, Down would make your player aim towards the post that is nearer the bottom of the screen.

A quicker method to pass from free kicks is to hold Down and press :circle:

I don't know why it does it! I did the same a few times and some of the players get right next to it for a simpe tap in but just leave it. On PES5 though, if you whip it in at pace to the far post, the keeper leave it sometimes (Depending of their ability) and you can score some cracking fluky goals!

I think thats what I always try and do whip it in and hope everyone misses it and it bounces in never got close yet tho.

A quick one for ya's: I missed a hatrick of Penalty's using Adriano, frey saved everyone I put it left, Right & Centre respectively it was only me 4th or 5th match on the game.

Pens are quite difficult sometimes! I think its some kind of bug, like when you aim for the top corner and the keeper guessed the right way, then you see them flying at the speed of sound to get the ball!

Why? Pascal Cygan can score a freekick with his head on PES5, freekicks are easier than ever, I think you need to practice a bit.

What game you been playing? I will agree that they are easy from about 30+ yards now but on PES4 from 20 yards I would score every time! Now, I cant even get it over the wall.

I have a tactic that I use and its easy on both.
I don't belive that you find it hard on PES5 though. Just use someone reasonably good and should go in.

Pressing circle? Tried it and it sales over. Who do you use??

Freekicks from 18-23 meters are the best... You use the player with the most curl and accuracy in your team, press down + square(shoot button) and then hold the Dpad to the left or right(depending on where you're aiming). The ball will go slowly over the wall and in the net and the keeper don't have a chance.

If you have someone like Juninho you don't even need to curl it, just aim for the post and hold down and square... Try it it training, works everytime!

In this game a goals a goal, Gotta take everyone you can get. Altho I hate knocking to the edge of the box on Freekicks I shoot from everywhere within reason.

true a goal is a goal but that ways just somthing i don't lower too i just see that as a noob goal lol ... tho you never know what you maybe tempted to do at 2-1 or 1-1 with seconds left lol
