hey there,
ive always been a fond lover of PES, and ISS for that matter. but i have never owned a console of my own....for a number of reasons of which i wont bother explaining..
for years i have had my closest friends in denial with the truth. Adament that Fifa was there game and they were not willing to swap there arcadia cravings for the divine simulation. no matter how much i point out FIFAs flaws and that by choosing each FIFA version they appear to not really love the game of football, but the names and branding, content with there authentic strips, names and teams and seemingly regular shots from positions that always seem to go in!
for years i spent time trying to convince them, alas to no avail. With this in mind, i decided to leave them behind and head east.
i have now left the UK, and have found Australia to have a pure healthy foundation of PES. Fifa here in melbourne is spat upon, kicked to the kerb, no matter how vast the improvements are implemented with each succesive version. perhaps this is because i have been lucky with the people ive met, or the fact that australia doesnt have a particulary good league of football, or the fact that AFL is there number one sport. in terms of soccer (a term i still dislike....its bloody football)they appear to only really care for there national players who most of which play in Europe anyway, and all feature in PES ! despite the odd name correction.
i feel despite the miles apart from the motherland, PES is well and truly established as the number one sports game deep down south. with this competitive attitude i have saved relentlessly over 3 months and opted to buy my first ever console (sexBOX360) with PES2008. In an attempt to get a heads up on friends here who clearly have to much time and an unhealthy addiction to what is already a *stoned* stunner of a game
i can only hope to get back up to speed, and no doubt continue the destruction of my relationship with my missus, sleepless nights, and reep the fortunes of the make believe world of pro evo.
i hasten to add, that it is a darn shame that PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 2008 hasnt really evolved !!! despite years out the game and too much FIFA getting in the way !! it still feels like it did all those years ago on the SNES. Which i cant quite tell if it is a good thing or a bad one !
Anyhow, a big thumbs up to all PROEVO fans, even if the latest version has one or two major flaws. its a legacy, and im proud to be apart of it, to the end.
