Well, I was never a FIFA fan.

I used to prefer older games such as Power Soccer and Actua Soccer before trying out Winning Eleven 97 one day. I've been converted ever since.

And I have to agree with some people here. It's very possible to be playing a PES game regularly for 12 months in a row (until the next PES/WE game is released, that is).

These PES/WE games have a massive lifespan. Every time you play, you discover something new which enhances your play and it makes you want to play more every single time.

The FIFA games or any other football game for that matter, just don't give you that same thrill that a PES?WE games gives you.

FIFa games = magic spots outside the penalty box, oh, love those spots, always score when shooting from those spots, so """realistic"""

best choice the thread starter has ever made.....the player movements is not too "movy" and is more realistic than FIFA...the free kick is harder and is a challenge, its almost a lottery you never get the same identical free kick...and to win you need to play the ball around the park instead of giving it to a ronaldinho and run around the whole team....
the lifespan of teh WE series is legendary no other sports game is soo addictive and enjoyable....

Well i normally play PES4 about 3 or 4 times a work, with work and stuff it makes it a bit harder to find some free time.
Usually play it for a solid 2 hours at a time and always with a mate, also more often than not 4 of us have a 2 on 2 match and it's unreal..so much fun..has you on the edge of your seats some of the games..

Also, dunno bout everyone else..but after i watch a good footie match on TV - I always get a craving to play Pro Ev..anyone get the same ??

My bro used to worked in a computer games store and last year he was told to tell customers that FIFA 05 was better than PES4..it was a promotional thing with EA and if they sold a certain amount then the store would earn a bonus..he wouldn't do it..
Don't think i could do that either..

Depends on what you prefer mate..

Do you prefer a game that looks great and has all licensed players and kits etc..but with gameplay that becomes so predictable and see's you scoring virtually identical goals time after time..
or do you prefer a game where you have to change the kits on some teams yourself and that looks bout 10% less appealing then Fifa..but a game that feels more and more like real football the more you play it..

To put it short..

How many people can honsely say they're still playing a game 12 months after it came out - and are still enjoying it !??

I disagree, PES looks 10% less appealing than FIFA? I don't thinks so.

Also I can honestly say that I am still enjoying PES4 today as much as I was when it came out almost a year ago

well im not enjoying it as much as in the beginning, i mean every game has its lifespan but i agree with u tho, some people really do enjoy this as much when they first bought it after 12 months and thats not so weird as the gameplay is different every match again..

Scoring free kicks on Fifa was always easy, at least of the version i played, press the button when the mark lines up with the red zone!!

how else do you explain scoring a 35 yarder with colin cooper??

Pro evo all the way

Well I brought fifa o5, had a crack at the career Mode
it was bare Long, and coz everything was so repetitive I got
annoyed, I simulated my matches for the remaining 12 seaons
when it came to the last season, the end of my 15 year career
I was hoping for a cup celebration, something good instead
all I got was some pic of my created manager, five stars around him
and congradulations ... U Mean I wasted a month or two
playing that Mode for Nothing special, truck about.
since then I havent played it ...

Although, I'm playin pro constantly, Im doing the MasterLeague
and I havent gotten bored of it yet lol
altho I'm fans of both Pro and fifa, so I'd always buy both

Even though EA have all these fantastic liscenses, they seem unable to utilise them to the fullest IMO.

Like there players dont look that realistic to me.

the numbers on the back of there kits look rubbish too.

The last time i enjoyed FIFA was FIFA99 on the N64.

Ive been playing PES/WE since WE4 on PS1.

Been hooked ever since.

PES Forever!

Have you ever seen one do one in the woods? Neither have I, but I assume they do shit in the woods, unless they are polar bears and live on the north pole. Its a stigma that bears shit in the woods, because maybe they dont.

Sorry, Im in that kind of mood

I think we are all biased a little...slightly...just a tad...

PES/WE series is the only soccer one I play. I say give it a try...you won't regret it! One thing that has also kept me liking it is the community and work that the lads/ladies put into option files, edits etc. Abolutely top stuff!

I played both up to half way through PES3/FIFA '04 when having had a longer stint with PES than normal, I totally gave up on FIFA. It was shocking. I did, however, already have the others, just played both.

PES on it's own now, FIFAA just totally sucks, although all my mates can't see it.
